Fate Grind Solo w/ Chocobo or VS Fate Party?

OK, no spoilers here, but when you hit lvl 46... you basically complete a story quest that doesn't unlock the next one until lvl 49! with dungeon wait times in excess of 45+ mins for my MNK, the actual run lasting 30-50mins, and hunting logs complete... I decided to Fate Grind it out.

I've found that Northern Thanalan seems to be the best location ATM, So I'm going to grind it out till 50 since there is no point for me to stop at 49 when the current cap is 50. This also gives me the ability to get the last of my AF armor before I start back up on the story.

Now... my question is... Is partying up really beneficial for Fate Grinding... Doesn't experience get shared to a degree when in a party? Wouldn't you want all of it for yourself & chocobo?

With my Chocobo at rank 4, I can survive the fates... so far the only benefit I see about partying up is if I die, a Healer in my party knows immediately and raises, rather than me finding one and /tell them.

    Can anyone elaborate?

You could mix it up, by doing Cutter's Cry, Stone Vigil, Dzamel Darkhold, and Aurum Vale - mostly for accesories, gears, and tomes. Add that some FATE on Mhor Dona and Northern Thanalan. Also do levee that gives you bonus accesories, it gives you 500 gil, sell those accesories that fetch 1k-2k, or wear and convert to materia that sells for more. You can easily get over 9k gil by doing 6 levee and selling those gears a day, plus small gils from FATE.

sucks that you cannot queue for a dungeon while your chocobo is out, or I would have leveled the crap out of my choco. Waiting 45 minutes while grinding fates with my chocobo would have raised its rank to 5 or 6 by now.

I think grouping for fates is beneficial for classes that can't aoe very well. And you get tons of XP while in party by way of killing mobs instead of just the ones you deal enough damage. So yeah I think it's beneficial to group up for fates moreso than chocobo companion.

Unless you want to level your choco.

Dark Devices in Northern Thanalan is currently the best place to chocobo level imo.

Sit in the cluster duck with the rest of the people and just AOE spam, that this is harder on a MNK....I know, I am in NT right now on my MNK.

I normally AOE grind on my PLD or SMN.
