    A Relic Reborn quest - bugged/ glitched/ disappeared from journal

    I had progressed through quest up to the battle with Hydra. The party had wiped and I was transported back to my home point at Drybone. I left the party and logged out. When I returned to the game the quest A Relic Reborn was missing from my journal. I then discovered that I would have to repeat everything in the quest again. I contacted Square- Enix and this is their response:

    and here is a photo of me with my unfinished Stardust Rod partially spiritbonded and with the quest telling me I need to submit a sanguine scepter with 2 savage might III materia to it. So Square...please fix this and at least acknowledge this quest is bugged

    Im having the same issue!!!! I tried contacting them through support in the game as well as through the lodestone.
    And heres the email i recieved:

However, to best be able to escalate and track the status of your report, we request that you submit the bug report through our forums at http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/forum.php, using the appropriate format. The specific forum to submit it in is the In-Game Bugs forum.

    I hope that we can take your report and try to resolve these concerns as quickly as possible.

    There's gotta be way they can help! In my case i was all the way to titan fight. All i needed was to defeat titan and and to get the oil with the 900 tomes.
    there has to be a way they can check our logs and see that we had actually progressed that far. Hopefully they just set us back to where we were in the quest and give is the key items we had.

    Same as Isome23 above me, i would really appreciate if Square acknowledge this issue and help those affected.

    It's nice how some GMs quickly "solve" these issue.
    SE, please get some GMs knowledgeable about the game. This kind of replies (OP post) are totally unuseful if not irritating. This is obviously not "difficulty with in-game content" but a bug.

    I got thrown back from Garuda to the start as well. Atleast the GM was helpful and told me that despite knowing what an effort it took, they couldnt simply do a rollback to a day before since apparently everything was working as intended. Felt they were genuine in their appology atleast and started over from scratch after sobbing/being irritated over it for a weekend.

    First of all, i'm very sorry to hear this happened to you. We do understand the requirements and the dedication needed to complete this particular quest chain.

    Unfortunately, neither a GM or SGM will be able to give your character a rollback in order to reinstate this particular quest. Alongside this, deleting the affected character and then submitting a character restore request, the character would be reimbursed in the same state from when it was deleted (in this case, the quest in question was not in the quest log, it will remain that way should we revive the deleted character).


    It goes on for a bit about the technical issues and that they feel it's not considered at fault due to a game error.

    Still yeah. It sucks. I'm back on Chimera myself after my friends atleast bought me the sword and the materia again. I was literally about to quit if it wasnt for them. Only now there arent anymore groups doing Chimera.

    Just hang in there.

    I don't think that's too fair... they're pretty quick to rollback when the game glitches IN FAVOR of the player... but yet if they game has an error, in which all your progress in a pretty time & gil consuming mission is just gone, they don't do a rollback? i think its a double standard. You want the game to be fair? Then yes, punish those who exploit the game but please help those who suffer from a glitch in the game...

    i got past titan and turned in then it reset. had to do everything over again. they wouldn't even roll back my account. friggin terrible customer service IMO

    WOW... Unbelivable... why cant they just help us. You would think its as easy as a Rollback, i could maybe understand if i might have abandoned it by mistake, then thats on me. But if the game caused it believe they should just help us out... (part of the drama is that I'm stuck in a Japanese server making Hydra or Chimera Fights near impossible to find, just to start all over!)

    well Square - speaking with other players as your support team suggested and seeing I'm not the only person with this happening to had made me feel so much better -_- Also seeing how it's not confined to 1 world - its now obvious SORT IT Square-Enix the fault lies with your buggy quest!!!

    I've had to redo everything up to Hydra again - not to mention having to buy the materia for the scepter as actually acquiring the materia is a roulette of sorts.

    I don't want to end up further in the quest only to find -ooh you must do it all over again and again and again.

    Also you might seriously want to consider adding both chimera and hydra to the duty finder because at least then it might actually be easier to put a party together instead of constantly shouting for specific classes.

    I'm already wishing I hadn't bought a sub...is that how MMORPG's are suppose to work, you know discouraging people from playing the game...if so congrats Square-Enix and thumbs up to your ever so helpful support team. I really like it when companies save me money in the long term. When this sub ends I won't be renewing

    I really cant get past the fact that they wont help... if i say some used an exploit to get the relic weapon, that person gets rolled back against their will. But if you ask for a roll back due to a bug that the game is responsible for, they just tell you a flat out NO. I don't know why i paid 3 months ahead if i cant even get a little proper customer service...
