Veterans rewards on new characters

If you create a new character after having earned veterans rewards on your account, does that new character immediately get all the rewards your earlier characters have gotten? Or do they only get subsequent rewards earned while that character exists? Or would they get rewards based on how long that character has existed (so, for instance, you might get the 30 day reward on a newer character at the same time an older character earns the 60 day reward)?
