Same on my server most of the legacy players are the most kind including myself. My LS/FC has been together since 1.0 and they all offer free melding and crafting for new players. They never get mad at anyone even in CM/Prae runs they just joke around and have a good time regardless if it takes 20 minutes or 1 hour. I have meet the greatest of new friends and they are mostly all legacy players.

I just ran CM the first time myself. All the way through people were like "hurry up! Watch it later." Of course I watched the cutscenes as the events happened and those folks all ran ahead. I guess I was the only one who hadn't seen them or the only one who doesn't give into peer pressure because everyone ran way ahead. So far in fact that I didn't have to fight a single boss through the entire CM and Preatoreum. their impatience handed me the story, the endgame and 100 tomes so it worked out. Now I'll be more than happy to skip the cutscenes but I'm not gonna pressure anyone else into skipping them. Might work out for them too.

Hopping in queue for Titan HM (for example) while wearing a mix of AF and pinks from Aurum Vale is totally unacceptable, be it a shout group or a DF group.
That's true, unless they really are clueless and have no idea what to expect from that fight but, after flooring it for the first time in hodgepodge sets they should get a clue (key word: should). Overall, people should have more decency in general, when dealing with others, imho. At least the DF issues are going to be somewhat remedied by the incoming gear score check.

I was on your side OP, until about the 20-25th CM run. Then it gets annoying. That's just the way it is. Story dungeons should be seperate from farming dungeons. Hell, I even hate clicking away the cutscenes, so annoying!

Edit: You team should have just left you, kept going and not have harrassed you. Watch the cutscenes, that is fine. But the rest of us are going ahead with the dungeon. Why? Because we have 20 more runs to do.

    Not fair, but that's reality.

I know when I went through it for the first time, I watched the videos and let their tears fuel my laughter. Why. Because that is the intent of the game. To see the dam story. For all the crybabies whining they don't have time to wait, I only have this to say.

Each dungeon comes with a maximum amount of time it will take as per the timer. By joining the dungeon, you know that time limit. If you do not have the time for a potential bad run that takes that long, do not do the dungeon. It is simple. Other people do not play this game for you. Dungeons have two purposes, to farm and to see story for the first time. Don't be a selfish twit and expect to meet EVERY players needs.

I had no idea that I was undergeared going in to titan (story mode!) the first time and everything was so chaotic I didn't realize it until my second go through. I went overboard after that and got a bit overgeared, and then realized it didn't matter in general. Why? Because till that point I could literally carry almost any group once I knew a fight. My gear never once mattered that much before that fight. Honestly it still doesn't matter in most fights. It is the unavoidable damage that determines gear requirements and not much else, and in most dungeons there is little in the way of heavy damage that is truly unavoidable once you learn the fight.

So Titan is this weird standalone extreme gear check fight amidst the rest of the dungeons and primals (I haven't been to coil, though I am told it has heavy gear check as well), so it is understandable that a lot of people don't know they aren't ready.

There's already a tick box to choose to join parties that are already in progress.

Add a tickbox to choose endgame or casual. Either that or one called Farming, which groups all those people together cross server.

Tick or untick when you feel up for it, but at least you kinda know what you're letting yourself in for.

I am the douchebag Legacy player everyone is referring to.
I whine about deaths on stupidly easy monsters and do a gear check before I start pretty much anything - if you are wearing a level 36 gear with a NQ accessories and some quest weapon, you will get kicked without a word being said - yes, I am that person.
I also time my parties, if AK takes more than 30 mins the party is not worth a 2nd run.
I know I am not the ideal "omg lets explore and take our time with this wonderful dungeon" person - I am the person that actually enjoys getting stuff done and make the most of the little time I have to play (u know, full time work and all).
I have done CM, Praetorium and AK probably 100 times or more, I am not going to sit there and wait for you to watch the cut scenes...
BUT, then again I would probably never come across you because I would never in my wildest dreams use Duty Finder for ANYTHING.

I do think it was retarded to not add more ways to gather phil stones than spamming the same dungeons over and over and over... Trust me, when all you casuals who mock us "toxic" legacy players for rushing reach the point that you want your relic, DL, AF2 done, you will want to skip the cutscenes as well, and then remember that I told you so...

They went with this design for a reason; so that people who need the dungeon clear for their first time always have other people to group with. That is why it is this way, and that is why it will likely stay this way for a very long time...

I made a rant on the Derpy Finder in another thread earlier, but it seriously is the main reason there are so many issues with this games community... I also mentioned how the server boards they're meant to be adding in 2.1 would be a much better alternative to the Derpy Finder, and a far better use of something like MVP... Here is an idea; if someone puts up a posting for a piece of content on the server board and it is their first time, then people who help (providing they've cleared it already) get additional rewards. MVP is the obvious one, but that is just for fluff items... Lets say they take tomestones from CM/Prae and make is solely a story dungeon, instead if you use the server board to help someone with it you get a significant reward in tomestones, as well as MVP. Then they can pretty much always rely on player to help out others, because there is a significant reward for doing so, they don't need to instead make the content frustratingly annoying for everyone...

I really cannot believe they decided to make the Derpy Finder the backbone of this games leveling process... It is terrible in every possible sense... Speed of finding groups was a nice idea on paper I guess, but we all know how that turned out... Instead, people can now go through 1-50 without talking to a single soul on their own server... They now need to waste time adjusting Crystal Tower for the Derpy Finder, as well as making adjustments for the community like MVP and a kick feature... I'd rather shout; you can kick people from shout groups, people are rarely ass-hats when you're on the same server as them, you can organize the run properly (speed run/first time/cutscenes/drops/etc.), you can make groups that aren't stuck to some meaningless default set up (who honestly needs 2 tanks at Titan?), you can meet people on your server and actually have a reasonable chance at forming groups in the future. With the server board you should get all that without the need to shout... The only difference to the Derpy Finder is you'd have to put braincells to work typing a message instead of ticking a box... If the developers some how fuck up this feature I'll be amazed, it could easily out right replace the Derpy Finder if done right...

On the rare occasion that I DF CM/Prae, I explain nicely that cutscenes can be viewed in one's inn room and that they should be skipped. If people ignore this, or flat out refuse to skip them, then I leave. No big deal, we're incompatible. First time through both I skipped everything. Why? Because I was asked to, and there were seven other people in my party and for some inexplicable reason I wanted to be considerate of their time. I later watched them in my inn room and not a single care was given.

You may think you're standing up for the rights of casual gamers or whatever, but you're actually being self-centred. Everyone knows people farm CM/Prae. Everyone. Maybe once more people are on their 30th+ run of these instances it will sink in. Until that time, I will point out that it is just as easy to form a shout group of first timers as it is for a speed run. That way you can all spend 90 minutes wiping and standing motionless, reading text and "being immersed" together without all this horrible, horrible pressure to think about somebody other than yourself.
