Im pretty new to most of the dungeon fights. Last night I did get a slight understanding of the frustration. We had 2 or 3 of the 4 new in the group, me being one, and after spending over an hour in Cutters Cry, I think it was, we failed at the end What a waste of time, well not an entire waste as I got some gear and experience. I can now see why some might be alittle frustrated, but the group I was in was rather patient. I haven't experienced anyone rude yet though, even on my first Ifrit fight where I died like 6 times.
Im not sure what will happen when they initiate the vote to kick option. I always hated getting an invite to a party in FFXI and then being kicked for no reason or not told why atleast. Might get even worse. I guess there will always be the type of players that don't have time for cut scenes and noobies, but isn't playing with different people with different skills and from different parts of the world and backgrounds part of what makes an MMO"RPG" cool and fun?

I've played many MMOs, but this is by far the most toxic endgame community I have ever come across. I'm really in awe how bad it is.. Unfortunately my month re-sub hit today, I really need to think about subbing for another one..
Unfortunately most of those playing right now are for a fact the So called hard core raiders from wow who just want the next game..(Button mashers, Non- thinkers). I've Played XI for the first 5 years and WoW till this was again ready.. just wait for those losers to fall off because they will ... the game has been live not even 2 Months and they are nerd raging .. pretty Hilarious actually.

I've been experiencing dribs and drabs of toxic players.

I was put off even entering Duty Finder previously due to all of the negativity surrounding it all.

After running about 15 runs now though, I generally will only see 1 or 2 in Castrum on every other run, as a few players are running it for the first time or or on their 2nd or 3rd runs to get more tomes like myself. Not that it is a hard dungeon to do but I'm generally able to keep the group in check as more than half the time I'll be the main tank and the other guy will be new to it. DPS players in general will not be horrible to people if the tank is half decent and they want to avoid having to to wait a further 45-60 mins in Duty Finder for their next run.

Anyway, I felt compelled to post just now though as just finished a run and this well geared (armed to the teeth) Dragoon seemed to be generally polite all the way through, even with new players in tow, but then as the run finished on the last boss, he let out a tirade of abuse and generally said to all of the players that were new "I swear some of these people will never see speed runs. Have fun in your mediocrity." - though the comments weren't half as bad as what others have no doubt experienced, I guess they are starting to learn and are releasing all that pent up anger in the final moments of the run instead.

At least that's what I hope!

When i go pick up i assume i will be with player who discover the game. Even i go with 7 friends and you are the pick up. I will let you do everything you want. Other people who blame you are only angry guys. And i would better kick the angry one than the cute guys who watch cutscenes.

There are "Toxic" players, that in reality are failrly young by the way they interact with people. Hardships in life often cause them to act out in less social, community orientated ways. These are the non-leader types. That like to dictate, but lack leadership skills.

It doesn't mean they do not have potential to grow, mature and become productive members in the game. They originated from game types that built a competitive way of thinking, rather then true teamwork, and community ways of thinking.

Eventually they isolate themselves, and the real community leaders emerge. Leaders who have patience, skills, and leadership abilities. That help others reach goals. Rather then looked down on, they are looked up to, and built better in game friendships.

The toxic players end up rushing their way through, with no appreciation. Half of them have no clue what the game lore is about. Couldn't answer detailed questions, and missed aspects that are later expanded on. They are the firsts to go, and usually do not return.

They know the least about actual requirements for content. We see it clearly with Dungeons like wanderer's, CM, Prae, and AK. Perhaps they need higher armor, because they lack skill. They shout for people with armor, that really would have already progressed beyond it. Or they miss out on runs, waiting. Some are already being avoided. Some are blacklisted and do not realize their shouts are going unheard because of their "elitist" attitude. I didn't realize it until with other groups and mentioned a shout.. and 3 of them said they don't see them because those people are probably already blisted.

I had an absolutely horrible experience in Castrum, but I had on okay party in Praetorium that actually waited for us who wanted to watch the cutscenes belonging to the main aspect of any FF game: the story!

I say "okay", because they didn't even have the courtesy to say "goodbye" or anything, they just left once final boss was over. However, much better than Castrum party I was in, since that specific Castrum party didn't even bother to say "hi" or anything, just rush rush rush without any regard to any cutscene watchers, which lead us to be locked out from the last fight in Castrum.

I think it is common sense, that if you want a speed-run, you do not duty-find queue a story dungeon. You have the choice to actually make a party with other like-minded people.

Of course, when I later finish leveling my tank, I will make sure to not repeat the mistakes and simply aweful behaviour other people demonstrated. Jesus Christ, it is Final Fantasy, not WoW.

Edit: Also about watching cutscenes in the INN: it is definitely not same experience, given that they designed a specific order of events; if you just skip the non-cutscenes, you'll miss a lot of the fluidity that was meant to be there. Imagine only watching FF6 story-scenes and nothing of the things that happen in between; yeah, it is simply not the same.

I'm actually glad i left this game in the dust, hearing these elitists preach on their altars about making people skip because it saves them time. You people will be all that's left, then you can cannibalize each other when the others have left. What a joke.

It is ironic how they are far more like the Garleans, one of the main enemies in the game. The Garleans were too obsessed with results and didn't care really about how they obtained them.

Man, I often think to myself that this is such an awesome game, and I'm having a lot of fun playing. And then I come to the forums and am confronted with what I have to look forward to. A pretty fucked up community expecting people to live up to their standards, giving said people loads of abuse if they actually try to enjoy a dungeon for the first time.

If you want to do a speedrun, then by all means do so. But either you use the DF and accept and respect people wanting to watch cutscenes or you form your own damn party. And no, it really doesn't work in both directions, since the DF is the default way of running a dungeon and cutscenes are in fact designed to be watched as events unfold as opposed to being watched in your inn room afterwards to save those oh so precious minutes of your life being wasted.

Can't wait for these abusive people to get bored and leave for the next MMO they can spoil.

Whatever happened to people just being nice, decent human beings?

When I do any endgame instance via Duty Finder I expect that people haven't done it before and am prepared to help them and give advice, if everyone's done it then it's just a bonus. I guess I'm what you'd call a Cutscene Crusader, I have no problem with people watching cutscenes in their first time through CM and especially Praetorium, it doesn't take much more time and I'd rather someone have a fun experience and begin to contribute to endgame with a positive attitude than have a completely negative experience and just leave the game because they think everyone's a jerk.

I think people just need to relax and actually let other people enjoy the game, I heard somewhere that charity and compassion are all things that make our own selves happier in the long run, it works for me. And just so we're clear, I have full DL and Relic +1 and I'm having a great time in the game, especially when I get to help out my friends.
