Another Odin kill, another silver reward.

I've been doing fates as a WHM since late August and I still can't tell how well I've done until the reward pops up.

As most of us healers know, you get jack all for raising or even healing, surprisingly.

Lately, I've been staying in Cleric stance trying to DPS. I've had this method work for me on both Odin/Behemoth, but only once each.

My latest Odin Fate is probably my most confusing kill as of yet. In the past, if I died, and/or threw out lots of res's I expected to do poorly. However, this time my party was on him from from 100%-0 with no deaths and very little damage taken. I spent the entire fight in Cleric stance with constant casts only stopping to move out of AOE. My entire party got gold except me.

There really doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to how Fate contribution works. I've shown up to Fates, hit one mob and got gold. I've been to other Fates during their entire duration only to get silver. Hell, I've read about players tanking a boss for the entire encounter only to end up with similar fates (no pun intended).

I had someone in my LS mention that there is only so many Gold medals per fight (I know, sounds ridiculous to me as well) but perhaps there is truth to this. It would at least make sense from a contribution standpoint. Top DPS players get Gold, obviously, those underneath them, Silver, and then Bronze. It's the only thing that would explain players putting forth full contribution, yet still being rewarded as if they hadn't. Of course this gap will only widen as DPS get ever better gear.

SE needs to release this information to the player base. I feel guilty as hell playing a healing class and not wanting to heal others in fear of not getting rewarded (which isn't even working anymore).
