Chocobo Armor

Ok so I was looking through the grand company and noticed there is some chocobo armor available, but now I have a couple questions.

1. There is 3 pieces available to buy, each for a different price. Is each one different, or do you need to buy all 3 to have a full set?

2. Is there any other ways to get any other chocobo armor?




As a side note, what is the best way to get seals... right now all I can do is level 25 guild leves, they barly give like 200 seals if I am lucky. Getting thousands of them seems difficult at that rate.

Each one in the grand company store is a different set of 3 pieces(helm, saddle, boots), the highest ranking set has more armor, decals, and a crest on the helmet. Each grand company barding is unique(Maelstrom is all gunmetal with red flags and decals, Flames is steel with gold decals and black flags, Adders is lighter colored steel with yellow feathers and gold flags). Once you finish the story you can switch grand companies, but it takes 30 days and some gil to switch again afterwards.

There's also a set from using the mantles from killing Odin and supposedly there's a set from each combat class coming out at some point too.

You buy the armor pack and it has all of it. Like the Crested Lominsan Barding. You'll get all the parts with just that purchase.

The Collector's Edition comes with the Behemoth Barding and I believe there is a way to change GCs after beating the story? So if that is correct you could join a different GC at some point and acquire their Barding. Then, of course, there is the Sleipnir barding you can acquire after participating in the Steel Reign FATE.

From what I can tell the leg armor for all the purchased bardings are the same. The half and regular share the same body piece with the exception of the neck, being longer on the regular. On the crested barding the body is the same as the full with the exception of the player leg guards attached to either side and a bit more decoration. For the helmet pieces the Half and full look almost the same but the full has an extra plate at the top. The crested barding has a Metal Horn (Limsa Lominsa), Bone Horn (Ul' Dah), or Feather (Gridania).

I know for a fact the Gridania crested armor has green reigns because I've seen them and made note of it. I know the Half and regular/full barding for Limsa Lominsa have tan reigns but the Crested may have Red Reigns.

I personally find a mix and match approach gives the best appearance. My plan is to use the Crested Helmet with the full body and the default leg pieces that come with your original barding set.

Also, Maelstrom is the best.

I am also part of the Storm, but what I find funny is that on the charts that break down player choices, maelstrom has the least amount of players haha.

I use the Maelstrom Crested Helm and Saddle and then the Behemoth legs, because they look amazing.

For me choice of GC came down to this: car salesmen (Flame), hippies (Adder) or PIRATES (Maelstrom)... It was an easy choice.
