Dark Devices!?

I was wondering... I have never done Dark Devices until today and I hear people say you can get at least 100k exp but I find this to be a very broken statement. If your group doesn't get first tag on the mobs everyone wants to pull then your not really gaining anything but helping the other fate groups gain exp faster because they are getting first tag. Why would you want to sit around and waste time on a fate when you can be running around doing other fates like in Coerthas. Especially if you have nothing to gain from it.... Was just wondering... would like feedback if any to learn the situation on this...

Yeah... I just ain't seeing the point to it. Then I am guessing the ones who get pissed off when you question it are the groups who are getting the first tag...

You must not have a lot of AoE in your group. So long as your group does 30% damage to targets (Which with a bunch of AoE it shouldn't be a problem.) You'll get credit for the kill. It doesn't matter who tags the mobs first. I've literally gotten up to chain 103 in a Dark Devices group. We usually had 1-2 Black Mages, 2 Dragoons, and a Whitemage in our set up.

Actually if your group still does a good amount of damage to the other groups mobs you still get credit for the kill, which means to you still get exp increasing your chain and therefore your exp gain. Pretty simple logic actually.

I thought they said that's not how it works... mmhmmm thought exp from what I read only goes to those who get first tag... well guess you learn something new everyday...

30% damage = EXP + Item rewards.

If you get a good aoe group you can exp chain as high as 400 (I had a 377 on my blm last night). With rested exp, second class bonus, and food this can be 150-200k just for the first part of the fate chain. Add in the other fates after and it's easily 250-300k exp.
