    Epic Gear/Weapons

One of the most important things this game needs is some amazing end game armor and weapons. Every FF game always had some jaw dropping Weapons and gear that not only looked delicious but turned you into a god with it's power.

This is what we need and we need it asap. This IMO will be, in like every other mmo out there, one of the top reasons that will motivate players to reach R50 and actually play the game.

The black mage and dragoon/dark knight armor art work Yoshi-P showed a while back is already a good start but we need more.

These items would have to be obtained with "special" means. I don't want them to be purchasable or even tradeable. Because then nothing will stop people from buying gil from chinese gold farmers and we will see thousands walking around with epic gear they did nothing to earn.

They could be purchased with guild marks or something similar to that and once you get the item it will bind to you, preventing you from selling it or trading it to another player.

I want these items to be hard to get and at the same time very powerful. Before i get hate from you guys saying you don't want the game to become gear dependent like it is in WOW let me remind you that while powerful gear will help a lot in WOW, it is useless if you suck at what you do. Even more, you won't be able to get that gear that makes you powerful if you don't have the skills needed to beats difficult Raids.

That being said keep in mind that battles in mmos can only require a certain amount of skills and strategy. You still and will always have to just spam a couple of different buttons and the real strategy and skill will show when you actually team up with other people to try to take down powerful monsters. The only thing that will make your character more powerful then another is stats. Stats are increased with gear so yes we do need gear that makes a difference when wearing it. How good you are at using that power will all be based on your abilities. This is not street fighter so if you and me achieve the same gear, what will make me better then you will be how good i am right?

Here is an example of great FF weapons.

I honestly hope they do it like XI but with refined acquisition methods, e.g:

    http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Caladbolg_%2885%29

Which requires going through trials which is mainly killing an NM x amount of times, killings xxxx number of enemies (e.g 1200 Arcana mobs) then collecting 100 items (e.g 50 Chloris Buds (NM), 50 Uld Fangs (NMs) etc. So basically something like this system but with different requirements as they are long term goals for a player to reach.

I don't think we need A LOT of epic weapons or it'll just begin to look cheesy after awhile, but maybe a line of ultimate weapons (like most if not all FF games have) around end-game and each expansion they can add a new set, basically to keep from flooding the game with nothing but 'epic' weapons like other MMOs end up having.

Well as far as endgame content goes i think we need more then just 1 epic weapon per class. Maybe like 5 weapons per class to start with. Easier ones that look nice and very hard ones that look amazing and provide a lot of power.

The way you proposed to do this is great imo.

Level 50 is not the final cap so it isn't Endgame. We shouldn't get "End Game" gear till "End Game" is a valid term to be used for the fact that we are at level cap.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

I did not like the Buster Sword or Gunblade.
But I'm all for shiny detailed grand weapons that must be quested for.

It's a type of progression and advancement I yearn for.

What else do you propose we do for end game, sit around and pick our noses? End-game content in every RPG (nevermind just MMOs) is based around gear grinding. People don't do hard content if it's not going to reward them. Hence why it was a pain in the arse to get anyone to do CoP in XI.
