God, I wish it were impossible to screw up. I've seen some really bad BRDs.
Hmm I find it weird that few people mentioned smn, keeping dots ticking is not that hard and the micro in this game is very limited.maybe this is because I play a lot of micro hero's in dota 2 but after 49 lvls this class doesn't seem like it has a lot of depth.
that's just me thu.
Ugh. Why do we have to have another Bard-bashing thread.
BRD. Despite this I have encountered so many BRDs that don't know when to use songs or just plain don't use them at all. If your healer is on 50mp and you have to be asked to Ballad, you are playing the class wrong.
I said that drawing from the very negative posts, not the fact that people think bards are the easiest class to play. There's a big difference between constructively giving your opinion and referring to bards and bard players as "bardtards" for example. :\
Player
Always funny to see bards talking about the difficulty of other classes.
My 2c:
MNK>DRG>BLM/SMN>BRD
Bards have two dots which are actually one dot because they have exactly the same duration and are cast one after the other.
You also have one self buff which is slightly longer than the dots, but also is refreshed with procs so really most of the time you only have to watch one dot to see whether you need to refresh.
If nothing else, summoner has more buttons and requires positioning for max dps. You also have to watch your mana carefully. BLM I have not played (well my BLM is like 35), but the rotation is also fairly simple, but they have a lot of utility buttons which separate the average from the good. It is true they lose dps when they have to move, but a good BLM will anticipate movement and use procs and swiftcast meaningfully.
Also a lot of BLM have no idea when or when not to use Flare. I don't know when or when not to use it either, but I do know that there have been a few BLM that impressed me with their awesomeness, and a lot more that are just meh.
While bard is...it is really really difficult to mess up bard, unless you just don't watch your tp at all, and don't get invigorate.
Oh that's the other thing. A bard without invigorate is useless. I'm sorry, but you are useless. You will drain your tp in like 3 minutes, and be useless the rest of the fight.
Similarly, a caster w/o swiftcast has so much utility removed from them that they should really consider getting swiftcast.
try chimera with pug bard and count how many time your group wipe in 10 minWhile bard is...it is really really difficult to mess up bard
I agree with you.
But that's not 'easy'/ 'hard' that's just ' responsibility' burden. And Bards are responsible for more 'mechanics' in level 50 content then BLMs. (even SMN has some responsibilities...some buffs for tank/pet control etc).
All ppl typically expect of a BLM:
1. Decent to high DPS
2. Don't Die
3. Don't pull hate
So in the ' responsibility' Dept:
BLM is easier than BRD.
But in a survivability/ave skill rotation comparison:
BRD is easier than BLM.
