Easiest DPS to play for the lazy?

and as for the "cumulative nature of a dps/support class that makes them more difficult than a BLM" ... having 1 silence and playing a song every now and then does not make them more difficult to play than a BLM. BRD isn't even a support class, really. go take a look at a DaoC skald or druid. take a look at the Rift bard. look at the Aion chanter. those are support classes. BRD is a dps class with a couple extra buttons that i could teach a 5 year old girl how to play perfectly.

this isnt about a bandwagon, i came to my own conclusions about bard before i ever even started looking at the dps forums.

and a chip on my shoulder? no, not really. i play melee in this game because it's FUN. and im GOOD at it. unlike the bards i get grouped with through duty finder. who try to do everything in their power to get hit by every single boss mechanic even though they should have the easiest time avoiding them. or the one in my last group who had mana ballad on 100% of the time even though the healer was never losing any mana. bard has the lowest skill ceiling of all the classes and the people who are attracted to the class tend to be the people who cant even hit said ceiling.
that's what my experiences in FFXIV:ARR have shown me thus far.

I easily do top dps on my Bard while pressing my 1 2 3 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 1 2 3 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 macro rotation while doing significantly more damage than other classes AND being able to not lose any dps while evading AoE's. I just hope Bard gets nerfed soon.

I play both brd and mnk (have whm too). Bard is definitely easier, but it is also a very fun class. I prefer monk, but I enjoy the hell out of bard when I do play it.

In coil none of the BLM CC works except for bind & heavy on trash/small adds which is outright useless. The heal is meh.

definitely bard. full mobility while doing 100% dmg, instant attacks, best burst in the game, best sustained due to ability to ignore mechanics, best support, very simple 4-5 button class minus temp buffs, 2nd best aoe in the game. no reason not to be a bard.

Best burst in game? Please explain that, because, I don't see that being anywhere near true.

Not being able to move while dpsing is NOT harder, it's just more inconvenient and dps inefficient. There is nothing difficult about stopping a cast time to move a few steps to the side. There is, however, a little inconvenience to it.

I can't fully speak for BRD since I've only played one up to about 30, but I have taken a BLM all the way up. They are both pretty basic classes.

BLM rotation is, fundamentally, very easy. Thunder 2/3 -> fire 3 fire fire fire fire fire -> blizz 3 thunder 2 -> fire 3 fire fire fire fire fire. Watch for occassional procs. Sure you can throw in cooldown and sleep/flare usage, but that isn't really inherently harder than BRD cooldown and song/silence usage.

BRD's priority rotation can be entirely macro'd to a few buttons. They become a little more interesting if you do everything manually.

They are both, IMO, on an equal tier of easy mode for most content. I would consider BLM more inconvenient in movement intensive fights. However, if we are talking endgame titan or coil, everyone has to be on top of the mechanics, BRD and BLM included.
