IFRIT HM

I just dont know where to begin.....
First the wait ... from 1hr to longer based on the time of day. Am a bard [dps] so i know am screwed.
Then the groups you get. Tanks dying to fast, tanks not interupting, dps dying because of not knowing the fight etc... but thats part of the whole idea of doing HM is to become better at it.

THE DROP RATE. I have run that blasted HM instance more than enough times to at least see my blasted bow at least drop. But in all the runs i've done i have yet to even see it. I have seen cnj/whm staff drop when one wasn't even in the group... or blm staff or monk weapon.. or the paladin sword when we had 2 warrior tanking Ifrit.

At this point am just about ready to say 'F' this game and move on. Because i cant do anything else really since from Ifrit HM on its a constant gear check.
I mean WTH.... so i have to run this instance 60/70 times to see my weapon drop.

What else can you do right. But my patients is wearing thin...

Pretty much. It's luck of the draw.
I had to do Ifrit nearly 65-70 times before I even saw my Harpoon drop.
Don't think you're being singled out or something.

I wasnt saying you need a gear check for Ifrit HM ...... my guildies told me to come to Amdapor keep and we couldnt get pass the wall no matter how hard i tried. My dps couldnt do it. I was saying everything after Ifrit HM is a gear check.

but thank you all for your replys. I still think the queue needs work and the drops shoul mirror the classes in the instance. Have it so instead of rolling on the item all classes roll on there weapon.. who wins the roll thats the weapon that is placed in the chest.

Ifrit isn't a gear check. Your dps need good weapons (darklight, GC weapons) and having a mage to LB the nails is nice but not necessary.

If you should end up in a group without a blm or smn, set a dragoon or monk to lb a specific nail, let everyone know which nail that is, and then have everyone else start on a different nail, move to a third nail, and lb will be ready again for fourth nail.

"We'll call the tail nail 12. Polly Arm, LB 12, everyone else go to 3, and then 6, and then LB 9 as soon as you're on it"

It also helps to have the off-tank switch targets too, every bit of dps matters during nail phase if you don't have mage LB.

Happened to me about 5 times, and the same item (book), when no one needed it. Not sure how this works out lol.

WHM so can't comment on queues, but oh God this:

I've seen 5 SMN books, including 3 in a row. I've seen the cane once and lost the roll. I'm yet to see a spear or a sword. I know random is random, but it's really annoying.

Also, was in a group where the WAR main tank went down and ragequit. I could just see how this was going to play out now. Sure enough, the PLD solo tanked and stunned Ifrit like a boss, and we won. No prizes for guessing what weapon dropped...
