I was lucky with ifrit HM. The group I ran hydra with decided to continue on to ifrit together. I had not prepared for the fight but lucky for me one of the mages had already done it so I shadowed him and it went well.

Honestly, they should fix the drop rate for the 2 books and MNK fist. If anything 9/10 it will be one of those 3 weapons wenever i go into ifrit LOL.

Honestly, I find ifrit to be broken more than anything else. It is that easy if you have pld stunning and blm limit break.

I suggest you make friends with people on your server. I use DF to get some exp on runs and see mechanics. Reenforce with some research. Then I start building groups myself. I made a linkshell that I invite good raiders. Now that I'm getting know for running runs and building a pool of good raiders, runs get easier and easier.

I've done 50+ runs and have the whm, blm and mnk weapons from greed rolls, but I have yet to see my sword drop. When it does, I probably won't win lol.

I suggest you try to find a PLD buddy and queue with him. If you get a 2 WAR combination, it's almost guaranteed not happening. Also, before anyone gets mad at me for saying that, having people you don't know do a stun rotation is almost impossible. Either the WAR main tank has to stun as well, which is just honestly too much to deal with due to the slow wind up speed. And then I hate to bash on DRG's or other classes but having DPS do stun rotations... lordy.

I think most PLD's need to know that they are there to literally sit and stare at Ifrit's cast window and stun. Their DPS is negligible and not needed.

Good luck with your Ifrit. I like to hop into Ifrit DF to help sometimes. Took me 14 times to get my WAR axe and only once to get my PLD sword. It can suck sometimes.
