So you have a personal ISP, that does not serve any customer but yourself? Lucky. Just fyi, ISPs do not have unlimited Bandwidth for everyone connected to its service.

Well now. This guy looks a PRIME candidate for screwing with your Internet. Disable THAT for a few days and see where it gets you.
If it uses profiling to determine your internet habits, it may have accidently decided to throttle XIV and give that to Skype.
Skype is also known to consume ones bandwidth at times due to the way the Skype servers will use its Users bandwidth to improve others service.

Obviously she's saying she doesn't have anyone else using the same router. Don't be a jerk.

Also, there's no need to belittle her problem, especially when a huge swath of the player community is suffering from it as well. That's great if you get great pings. Congratulations on picking the correct ISP/geography to be a winner. Don't treat anyone who didn't like a total nub and a loser.

Some ISPs like to throttle FFXIV, because it flags up as P2P on their system. This would explain why you seem to get laggier around peak times.

I was with BT, and we were having terrible problems after 6pm. The game would be unplayable for hours. The only solution in the end was to upgrade to a new contract, which removed throttling, and this fixed the problem completely.

Please Try a Glasnost test to see if you are being throttled during peak times. Run this without FFXIV or anything else in the background. it will tell you if you're being throttled, and that might be what's happening to FFXIV.

And this "cFosSpeed - Internet Acceleration with Traffic Shaping and bandwidth management." sounds like a prime candidate for throttling your speeds too.

Im not belittling anyone. i responded to her tone in the same way she responded to me. Also, referring to ones ISP is makes one think of ISP. Not the number of people inside the persons house. A better way to describe that would be "I'm the only user in my house".
Also, if you read my post, while sarcastic, I have offered help twice.
Also, if disabling that internet throttling/management program works for this guy, it would be an idea to ask around and see if other such players with the issue run similar programs.

Anyway my ISP told me they don't have politics about server or traffic.
Which doesn't help at all, since make you wonder WHY.

I was having the same issues.It seems to have everything to do woth data transfer, as my ping is a consistent 50 ms.Let me tell you,healing dungeons was a nightmare considering the screen would freeze fow 1-5 seconds quite frequently.Wireshark ascertained that TWC had my game set to the lowest priority for data transfer.

A quick fix?Try using a VPN such as WtFast.There is a FREE 30 day trial.Setup takes minutes and my dungeon runs are seamless.This,of course, is a temporary fix as I do not intend to pay 9.99 per month for WtFast once the 30 free trial ends.Happy hunting!

I tracked down my latency issues and it's definatly not my ISP doing anything. The moment my Packets arrive in Asia I have latency values over 200 ms. At the final hop I have a latency of 300ms average. So I guess, I can only hope that transferring to a EU/NA server will at least lower my latency. It's not the fastest way from Germany to Asia.

Same issue, started at same time. Talked to my ISP and nothing on their end. Did every other fix I got suggested and nothing helped. This issue is real, and what more it got really bad simoultaneously for a lot of people. I had no issues in 1.0, alpha, beta, launch.

It gets worse on peak times but it have persisted practically all time of the day the last week.
