    I have to admit getting to 30 was no real obstacle on repair crafts, but 30+ it starts to get painful. When you consider 40 is the halfway point to 50, the players that take crafts to 50 will take a long time and probably slim out quite a bit. Players taking all repairs to 50 would be a minority, at least for several more months I would assume.

    taking any craft to 50 isnt requires for repairs
    and yes its a BIG pain
    no one who does crafting as a side job will bother

    I think repairs are essential to the economy, particularly to crafters.

    Once the market matures and there are no (or very few) low-level players anymore (as happened in XI) the only way to make ever decreasing amounts of gil will be to HQ the few pieces of gear people wear at endgame.

    This means a long, hard slog up to maximum rank with no profit for the chance to make the HQ market even more competitive and therefore less profitable. Anyone who desynthed the majority of their NQ elemental staves in XI can attest to that.

    what you say is not inaccurate, however, i think what they are saying is right now, since no one cares about money and everyone crafts, and its not always easy to get a repair, that repairing isnt actually making anyone money.

    Thinking about that though, they should probably add a repair search to the market ward search, this way people looking to repair can, and people looking to get repairs are less likely to just toss an item that they cant craft high enough to repair.

    Also, they are going to tie materia to crafters, and probably have some non craft gears available sooo the craft game will probably change somewhat.

    I, too, think that items should be tradable, regardless of their condition.
    To preven exploits all that would have to be introduced is something like a warning popping up when you hit the "accept" button saying "This item is in a less than implaccable condition. Do you want to continue?"
    Then you check, "Oh, damn, you wanted to sell used underwear to me! I don't want it like that!" and hit "no".
    But at least you could give your friend that just started with Gladiator your old sword because he's going to need a new one before he outleveled it anyway...

    In FFXIV I partly financed my levelling gear by selling the old stuff and buy the new stuff. But with a lvl 11 Conjurer Staff for 80.000 Gil I levequested long past that level before having enough money.

    If it wasn't required to get other players to get to 100% durability this wouldn't be such a problem. They should just let NPC repairs go up to 100% not just 99.
