Only 1K gil? Really? On my server it's about 4K. I personally offer 5K. Either way, it covers a crafter's repair materials, plus I get to not worry about repairing that item again for another 2 weeks. It's pretty much a win-win situation from my experience.I can not find any benefit to the repair system. The repair rewards are usually very small once you add in the cost of the repair material or less then the cost of the repair material. Most linkshells have someone that does repairs and the offer is normally 1g. Crafters are not making any money doing repairs; at least not on my server. I think repairs/damaged gear are not beneficial to the game and I wish they would just scrap the whole thing.

not 1kgil, 1gil lol. but that is only for LS repairs. I have still seen repair jobs needing only an iron nugget offering 10k+ gil every now and then
My linkshell mates offer 1gil not 1k gil to repair their items. I am on alot and check bazaar's. On my server the reward is not that great if anything.

I totally agree. I guess the thing that bothers me the most is this; I feel like the only thing repair does is to offer yet another block in the game. If crafters were limited and the reward of repairing was indeed "rewarding" by way of value then I would support the function. As it stands most players are ranking up crafts and there are many crafters that can repair. So I really looked at the whole repair function. It doesn't really benefit the crafters who spend so much time and gil to rank up the crafts. It doesn't benefit players who this is more of a blocking mechanic then anything to get repaired so they can sell and move on to new gear or grind further. So who does repairing benefit really? From my viewpoint it's really not helping anyone in the game. I don't know maybe you have a better viewpoint you can tell me about but I just don't see the worth of it.

there was a time after launch wen repairs was useful since most didnt have the craft levels but now eveyone does and makes the repair for others near useless esp since eveyone leveled there crafts to avoid the huge repair bills...

Repairs are an obstacle, yes
But so is upgrading your gear
So is leveling
So is farming materials
So is taking the time to try and sell stuff you farm
everything is an obstacle in some form or another in these games
also, another huge reason to rank up a craft isnt repairs
its to make your own +3 gear without spending 50mil+ per piece on it
i know ive pretty much made all my gear and im proud of it
and the profit margin on even the cheapest gear is pretty nice right now(30k profit per piece at least, if not 200k+ on some of the harder to make stuff) and if you can make it ALL yourself, every piece, you are gonna make some good cash.
