You are the only one trying to derail the thread here since no one in this thread has stated once that they're against repairing at all. We are just against not being able to trade something which isn't at 100%.

Like I said, what's going on here is situational. Did the OP have the powers to see in to the future and know that someone might just need a wand at that particular time and at that particular place? No, he didn't.
