Technically when they are more exquisite items you will have the BoE you want as for normal items that would kill some of the Final Fantasy element for me and probably some others. I play WoW as well and love the BoE system in that game but just don't think it is for this game.

BoE system has its benefits and can stimulate an MMO economy to some degree but with the lack of content several ppl have most jobs near 50 and are working on crafting classes and gear is getting made but not selling so well because there is noone who is going to buy it. Until we get an influx of new players BoE type thing wouldn't change anything because you are in the same boat anyways. Whether I can resell a piece of gear or not, both ways its getting vendored. But If I just leveled to 30 and want to give my friend or someone else my gear for free I can just pass it on. I like the ability to do that better for this type of game since they try to make it so community heavy.

I can not find any benefit to the repair system. The repair rewards are usually very small once you add in the cost of the repair material or less then the cost of the repair material. Most linkshells have someone that does repairs and the offer is normally 1g. Crafters are not making any money doing repairs; at least not on my server. I think repairs/damaged gear are not beneficial to the game and I wish they would just scrap the whole thing.

I read quickly through this thread, and there is one point that has not yet been brought up.

In general I agree with requiring 100% to sell item in bazaar, but not required 100% to trade. This has a consequence, that many people aren't aware of. When upgrading an items (e.g. iron pickaxe ~> polished iron pickaxe), the original item does not need to be at 100%. This glitch is only of little consequence now because only items that the crafter has used personally can take advantage of this.

It may be a small thing, but if trading items with durability less then 100% is added (which I support), then the synthesis recipes should be changed to require components that are at 100% durability.

    My 2¢

Why should an upgrade take 100% quality? I don't get that at all. Usually if you were going to upgrade it you would repair it at the same time.

I just want to say that if I really want a item, I will buy it anyway at 0% so why not sell it domaged and the buyer have the choice of the % of damage

Allowing to trade non-100% gear would definitely make my retainer cleaning every 4 weeks more interesting. I usually end up throwing like 200-300k in gear away because i don't want to repair it to sell it or give it away.

Only 1K gil? Really? On my server it's about 4K. I personally offer 5K. Either way, it covers a crafter's repair materials, plus I get to not worry about repairing that item again for another 2 weeks. It's pretty much a win-win situation from my experience.

not 1kgil, 1gil lol. but that is only for LS repairs. I have still seen repair jobs needing only an iron nugget offering 10k+ gil every now and then

For repairs I normally do something like 100 gil times each rank of the item, so 5k for a rank 50 item.

I still feel that player repairs are worthless and was only added as an afterthought to give crafters something extra to do.

NPC repairs would be the best gil sink in the game if they did it properly, instead money just changes hands.
