As OP and most people have said, there shouldn't be any reason you cannot trade a damaged item to another player. Selling, I can agree with, but when I am playing with friends, I would like to be able to share some of my things, especially if I don't need them anymore. If it's that much of a problem just give a little notification to the player receiving the damaged item if they really want it or not.

    "The [item] is damaged.
    It's condition is 67%.
Would you still like to accept?"

    Something along those lines.

    This. Exactly.
The reason for the limitation is obviously to avoid having players accidentally buy damaged gear. Unfortunately, this also prevents players from knowingly buying damaged gear. Another case of mechanisms to prevent abuse getting in the way of legitimate play. This confirmation should also be extended to bazaar items... if, as a crafter, I want to go around collecting damaged gear and try to resell it in repaired condition, why shouldn't I be able to?

There's no need to be aggressive and pick a fight. The fact was that he tried and wasn't able to at the time. It happens. Things don't always work out as you'd like them to.

Person 1: I went to the market to buy some oranges but I couldn't find any.
Person 2: Find some oranges! It's not hard.

._. Is it really necessary to act like that? I don't see why you would do that other than to antagonize someone.

    Back on topic..
I would personally prefer to see only 100% items in market wards, but for bazaars and trading I think it would be great if you could give away/sell items less than 100% if they were marked as damaged.

I once had an issue where I was remaking a character and was going to trade some items to someone to help transfer over, but they were all damaged. I didn't have the time to search for repairs and some of the materials would have been a bit costly. (I was already wasting 2 hours of my friend's time, and really didn't want to make that 3 or 4 hours.) I ended up just selling most of them to an NPC and starting over. They weren't super high level things, but it would have been nice to just be able to trade them.

I'd really like to get this idea passed on to developers, so keep showing your support if you agree.

It may be a small change but i think that is all this game needs, lots of small changes. It's all these minor annoyances adding together that make the game feel bad sometimes.

...um yeah it CAN BE lol... Fixing this game and keeping it alive for those of us sticking around means we need to be sensitive to a broader ranger then our own ideals. For new players or even people with little time this is a killer. Especially on the lower pop servers. Even I find myself wasting far to much time just to do so. Id take the old degrade scale over being able to trade dmg gear. When it comes down to it; its stupid annoying and just one of many things SE needs to get rid of to keep new players they get. (Its a turn off) I think maybe something to do with RMT? Another thing that needs another major relook...I mean limiting our mining for example...well a Goldseller will simply have more then one miner;; therefore punishing players... (get rid of the surplus system) *slaps self in face; sry off topic rant...

Whether or not repairs are easy or hard to get isn't the issue. We should be able to at least trade damaged items. Selling in the bazaar, on retainer or to NPC I can understand 100% durability.

As others have said putting in a small prompt to ask if it's okay to trade for a damaged item would keep people from getting tricked and all the mess that comes with that.

Lots of good points being brought up here, everyone. I've compiled your comments and sent them off to the dev. team!
