You ask "Who is Hildibrand?"

Well with Hildibrand return in patch 2.1 or 2.2 I'm quite excited to experience the comedy storyline of FF14 world.

However, there are still people in the game who ask "Who is Hildibrand?"

Some have even ask if Hildibrand is a dungeon.

Well this is Hildibrand and this is the Hildibrand Chronicles Quests from back in 1.0.

I've been looking for his name ever since I've seen him in several users' signatures. Glad to see we'll get to see him in a Realm Reborn.

Also... how come 1.0 cutscenes seem to be more immersive than the ones we have now? Is it the music? The graphics? The NPCs personalities? I'm not sure what it is, but it doesn't seem as bland as the ones we have now. Then again, it's just my opinion and someone could differ.

From what ive been through with 1.0 i felt all aspects of the cutscenes were superb and immersed us all greatly into them.

I am just looking forward to seeing DirectX 11 come into play sometime soon?!

Probably because of 1.0's engine was specifically designed for custscenes - it was the exact same engine SE used for FFXIII after all, and that's basically one long cutscene with some fighting in it.

Also Hildibrand and his quest line was entirely Yoshi-P era - he was only added to 1.0 long after Tanaka resigned from the company, hence Tanaka had nothing to do with his creation and addition to the game. He was there purely to lighten the jaundiced tone of the 7th Umbral Era story that was leading up to the changeover to ARR with comic relief, and what a job he did of that.

I can't wait to see what has happened to Hildibrand after the events of 1.0

The last time we see him is in that last cutscene and since Dalamud is no more we can expect a continuation of Hildibrand Chronicles in 2.1 or 2.2.

I can guess Hildibrand's enterence will be either

A) Hildibrand falls from the sky.

B) We reach a part of what remains of Dalamaud and discover Hildibrand there.

C) Hildibrand appears just like the Legacy player into the new era but has a more comical entrance.

D) Other unknown comical entrance.

The difference in the cutscenes is the cinematography. For all his short-sightedness Tanaka knew how to make a cutscene. If he could have been kept on just to make the cutscenes I'm positive that they would have looked fabulous. Though, nothing will ever look as fabulous as Hildibrand.
