    Prevention

I understand that Square-Enix wants this game to be a safe and friendly environment for all that play the game, but perhaps they're going too far with that notion; Further, perhaps they're not achieving their intended goal.

-We're not allowed to send mail to non-friends to prevent RMT, though they seem to be doing just fine as they are.
-We're not allowed to use /tells in dungeons because they want to prevent harassment, though, if someone wants to harass people in a dungeon they won't use /tells, they'll do it to their face for the whole group to see; Nor does it stop them from harassing the character if they are on the same world as them(after the dungeon).
-We won't be allowed to see the names of adversaries in PvP because they want to prevent harassment, though for the main part in pvp, harassment takes place not because someone beat you (or that you beat them); More often than not it occurs as shaming ex-team mates or simply bragging about how good you think you are (and then you're called out on it).
-We're prevented from dye'ing anything but our crafted armours because they think it will dilute the intended look of everything else. If that's the case, why are we allowed to dye anything if there's a way you want everyone/everything to look?
-We're limited in the amount we can say, or how often we can speak on the forums even so far as to having to earn the right to speak at all by leveling... I have not seen a reason for this, but i do not think any excuse that is given can justify limiting your paying customers in this manner.

I'm certain there's more.. if you know of something, feel free to mention it.

Square has done a lot of good things with this game, but in their zeal to 'child-proof' this game, i believe they're both diluting the experience and not giving their customer base enough credit.

Will there be people that harass, or troll or otherwise disrupt our gaming lives? Of course there will be, there will always be those people; though, there are far fewer of those kind of people than there of us non-abusive customers, but the trolls will always stick out to us because it's human nature to focus on the different or the upsetting. The key isn't to attempt to shield our poor and 'innocent' selves from this kind of behavior, but rather give us the tools to deal with it when it happens.

Please XiV developers, give us working tools to deal with harassment or gold-sellers instead of attempting to shield us from the world as if we cannot handle it. We are all adults, and those that aren't are technically being allowed to play by their parents since minors are not allowed to have accounts; so it is the parent's responsibility to care for their children, not square's.
