i still would welcome an "autoclimb" or autojump feature, to get over bigger obstacles or climb "small" hights.
But that would mean new animation and so i rather have the battle/job system in a great shape as well as content.
After this i dont mind them working on that feature.
That would be like telling a troll to stop trolling.

There ya go, pretty similar mechanics.

I think the OP's video links have made the point better than I ever could have that jumping should NOT be in FFXIV.
Reminds me of that game Prototype, and just like Prototype, it would be fun for only about 10 minutes.
Also, +1 to Zantetsuken for his signature.

Those characters look so freaking derptastic when they float through the air.
In other words.. No thanks.

Calling Jump being an emote in XIV.

Well, unless SE remaps the controls on the controller. It won't be anything but a emote. There wouldn't be any reason for SE to put jump to the spacebar like every other game out there, because then controller users would have to actively use the keyboard to play. Which then begs the question, why aren't they just using a keyboard + mouse in the first place?
Which kind of goes against the whole controller based game play setup they have right now.
Personally, its not the PS3 bringing this game down (functionally), its the controller. It's far far inferior to the keyboard and mouse. Which, I'm not trying to spark a controller vs keyboard debate, but yea. Look at XIV's UI and really try to understand their design decisions. If you get it, you'll face palm at how bad the controller ties the game down.
that is just recluses I know i said before im in the i dont give crap club about jump but i dont want that jumping then floating crap for sure i say nay to that though long jump part was kinda cool
