    End-Game DoH Suggestion

Many people consider DoH or crafting in any MMO as just a means to an end. To make money to support their main class. For some though, crafting is sometimes the main part of the game. Scanning the market, finding those sweet spots and cashing in.

Now I know that this game is not supposed to be FFXI 2.0. But that doesn't mean that certain functions cannot be carried over. FFXI had a couple things that worked, and worked very well. One of those things being end-game viability for crafters.

As it stands now, crafters have no end-game viability. No one buys the iLv 70 gear because they just farm their DL/Relic gear and call it a day. In FFXI, this was not the case. Yes you could get buy without buying/making crafted gear, but there were some pieces that just made things easier. But a crafter couldn't do it alone. Certain BiS pieces had to be created from rare drops from NM's and bosses. So there was some nice synergy going on between crafting and end game content.

To take notes from other MMO's, it wouldn't make sense for a dragon to drop some epic and amazing chest piece. It's a fricken dragon! But for it to drop some of it's scales or fangs...items that can be used as material in synths. That's another story.

The game doesn't have any real NM's. But a possibility could be adding material drops to all the hard FATE bosses like Cancer, Behemoth, Odin and all the others. Not 100% drop, just a chance. Adding material drops to the dungeons we have to farm for tomes is an option too.

Crafted gear should be a step up from Darklight gear, iLv 75. That way people will still go for Darklight, but if they have the chance they would go for the crafted gear instead as it's just better. This would give end game crafting more viability, spice up the market a little bit, make FATEs and Dungeons more exciting when you're hoping for that drop, and give people more options for gear.

    That's just my 2-cents.
