Is it weird that I have actually never seen one?
I thought I did once.. But it was just an NPC.
Tons of RMT though.. But I haven't seen an actual bot on my server yet.

In 11, after months of reporting, certain bots were still there. SE fails at dealing with this. The wave bans don't work. Before the bans are done there are already new bots ready to take over, so the problem persists continuously.
There is always an excuse for them not to do quick bans, and it's getting old. Like the RMT advertisers? Why aren't they instantly dealt with? They don't do anything but shout, there is no gil to track with those or logs to be researched. A GM patrolling a zone could deal with those instantly. As for tell advertising we shouldn't even have to fill out a report, as soon as a few hundred players blist someone they can investigate a log and deal with it.
Knowing SE, don't expect this to change. People can defend SE all they want, but the fact remains that this is not working.
I understand banning in waves for RMT(the banks and buyers and such), but the spam and teleport botters shouldn't last more than an hour or two after being reported. It takes literally 2 seconds to see they're blatantly breaking the TOS.
On my server there are SWARMS of Teleport Botters in Ul'dah running the level Delivery quests in the city there and what not. They all have a string of random characters for names and I think I figured out that theres a "Root" Bot that stands in the Market place there and after all the "swarm" bots finish thier runs they all teleport to the "root" bot and trade the gil they made to it. After that is rinse and repeat.
And they teleport around the city so fast its no wonder theres so much lag on our server ( Zalera ) not to mention during Peak Times and well into the late evening to early morning we got a Server Que cause the server is so full of bots.

Have you guys ever thought about that it is not only getting the bots who do the farming but that SE also look where the money goes too, I mean what use is it to ban the account farming the items but fail to ban the account where all the money in the end goes too?
So while for us it sucks that these don't get banned I think SE does know and will react but need to look at the bigger picture.
If they're doing that, then they're doing it wrong. No one gives a damn about the people who have the money. They care about the bot that's preventing them from farming Fleece or Diremite Webs or whatever. And since they can't make money doing that now, what are they going to do? Quit or buy gil. Both counterproductive to SE's cause.
The main priority should be the bots/RMT that directly effect players. And again, there is NO reason these bots shouldn't be banned within a couple hours of being reported. It takes literally 2 seconds to see they're hacking. Let's say ~5 minutes including log-in/out and travel time, assuming they even need to do that. A couple people could probably keep up with all the bots reported in a day.
There really is no excuse for those teleport botters to last more than 1 day. I'm disappointed in the lack of effort SE puts into dealing with them and if I do decide to cancel my sub and stop playing, it'll be because of that.
Seen the same sort of thing in Gridania on Lamia... Named Coco See... Reported this character several times. Nothing done about it for now more than 10 days. You'd think someone would actually look and notice that the same level 1 character has been standing in the same spot 24/7 for over a week, logged in immediately when server is back up. I'd hate to see their response being that slow incase some user has died at keyboard like with some MMOs.On my server there are SWARMS of Teleport Botters in Ul'dah running the level Delivery quests in the city there and what not. A bunch of us reported a guy that was botting to farm Aldgoat Skins. He's still active as of this evening. We reported him a little over three weeks ago.
Your faith is misplaced.
It's one thing to look at where the money goes. It's another thing to let them be there and very directly impact the gameplay and making the lives of legit players (esp. weavers in this case) more difficult. Aren't there enough GMs per server or something? A GM popping in and taking a peek at what happens should be all it takes to confirm that they're teleport hacking.
Another thing they really need to add is an autogag function. 10+ blacklists within an hour or so? 12-24hr account-wide mute. Would spare them time dealing with RMT advertizers if they're as incapable of dealing with the spam theirselves as it seems.
