Error Code 401

Sometimes your card will be charged even if the process fails. In my case this kind of error will be automatically corrected in week and this miss-charge disappears from your bank account (Its more like reserve till the end of month). If its there next week I would be worried thou.
Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to defend SE or anyone else. This kind of issues has happened to me in every goddam mmo and I've had to try correct it each time.

If you have issues with 401, try buing the crysta needed instead and sub that way. It worked for me and the price is exactly the same as a sub would be. 10.99 Euro for 1099 crysta i.e the Entry sub option.

To make it clear, I used the same CC that got 401 on the sub page when I bought the crysta.

They should already just give us a month free due to all the lag on the servers.

Yep I've been playing all evening. I've been using this credit card for MMOs since EQ and never had a problem up until now. Why are we being forced into time cards now SE??

I don't quite understand why it doesn't work... I bought the game from the SE online store without problems. I guess it's the transaction system they use here...

My father in law's account is having this problem. I live in the NA so.. can't purchase game time cards. It was his day off of work too. Funny thing is.. we use the same bank card on multiple accounts. Only his is messed up.

Same here error 401.

I have 6 $1 charges on my card from the number of times it's tried to renew and the money for those has been charged with each saying pending. It's definitely not my fault as SE keeps saying it is. Something on their end is screwed up.

Meh, I've now tried to purchase Crysta and that doesn't work either. As soon as I select the amount I want to buy and hit next, it comes up with an "error 11000" message.

I've also noticed why it does this. For SOME reason, SE's site has decided that I'm from Europe when I never at any point specified as such (except perhaps when I said I prefer UK English over US English)

And nowhere am I given an option to change it and even if I was, I doubt they'd let me pick 'Australia' or even 'Oceania'. Basically, I'm stuffed until SE decides they will finally deign to respond to my ticket 3 days after submitting it.

The Mods will come and shut this forum down in a bit, saying its the banks fault. Its not the banks fault, its SE. I have tried everything they have asked for. Tried all the work around's and nothing works. I have spent 150$ right now, 100 on a Ultimate game time card, rejected, 50$ to buy crysta rejected. Nothing works. So this mod is gonna say hey its not us its your bank. Its not your bank. The amount of customer service this company has is appalling. Right now there is no real way to pay, it works or it doesnt work. You can try the crysta work around but it didnt work for me and im going to dispute it with PayPal in a couple days. DO NOT buy the game card as these are NOT refundable and will not work 100% of the time. Square Enix NEEDS to respond to this. Find a solution.
