For now the only option is breaking the shell and make another exactly the same. Make a reunion for those active in the ls and then can recruit more ppl.

I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.
The problem with breaking the shell and starting over is that I would have to rename it. In order to keep the same name, everyone that has the current shell would need to dispose of it, which isn't going to happen since most of these folks aren't getting back on anytime soon but haven't deleted their character accounts.
LS's could use option to boot offline, as well as invite/remove ppl not nearby.

Actually, I was just coming to this section to post that it would be nice if switching between LS had a text command.
Ultimately it would be great if I could type l1/ (That's "L" & "1" & "SLASH") to type in my #1 LS, but in lieu of that I'd love to just be able to switch with a macro. Opening the menu and dealing with the interface just to say "Hi" to someone in another LS, then switch back to another LS to continue the chat is really ... well burdensome.
I keep thinking that people come online with 15 in the shell and say Hi and 1 person answers them. Meanwhile 10 of those people are actively chatting elsewhere. I do it too (especially when crafting, which is another issue).
It would be nice if we could switch with a text string or while crafting to feel more connected to our communities. I think that would help with the "loyalty" notion a bit. It would be easier to talk in each Linkshell rather than Linkshells full of people not talking to each other.

Thanks for all the info Zacko. I never played XI, so sadly I can't compare to that..But I never really knew that there were different linkshells according to different goals..such as fighting, crafting, or just plain socializing. It helps me feel better about exactly why people might leave, or jump from ls to ls.
And so we're clear, I'm not actually an LS leader, my boyfriend is XP But I share his goals and feelings toward LS loyalty, and I was there when he founded the LS. Also I've helped a lot in recruiting and trying to socialize with all of the members we have so far..so a lot of times I feel like I'm a leader O.o
I kinda understand the recruiting-other-ls's-to-help-with-high-rank-fights thing as well, because even with 3 or 4 of my own members most nm's are too tough..but in the process we've made friends with another LS or two..someday I may plot to try and bring them into our LS *coughcough*
And I agree, if more people play then LS recruiting/loyalty may become stronger.

I agree, we REALLY need to be able to kick people who haven't logged on in months.
I'm not the leader, I'm just a "star"/sackholder/officer/whatever, but I totally understand the frustration of seeing a giant list of names with like.. 3-10 people on line at any given time.
The other thing I have really been harping on is a dire NEED for some kind of LINKSHELL MESSAGE
(my full "rant": http://ffxivfanservice.blogspot.com/...breakdown.html)
Also the ability to promote/demote members.
Somebody was out of range and wanted to invite somebody else... The Leader couldn't promote them, so we had to see who was available with anima to go and invite. @_@ I miss XI's sack/de-sack ability from anywhere in the realm.
And... being able to see where people are... would be nice... I'll stop :x
Point is, linkshells are great for meeting people, doing fun stuff, chit-chat, making the game more fun with that community feel~~ They need some love from the devs methinks!
Will You Marry Me Camate? :3
Omg I totally forgot to mention Linkshell Messages! They are a must as well. More color customization for the LS logos would be cool too![]()

+1 for basic LS commands to be added ASAP. I can see the pandemonium it will be when we start having regular-basis events but not being able to kick offline members or even leave a /lsmes.
The current LS system is frustrating for anyone willing to organize any kind of event.

As a LS leader once a long time ago, I was forced to disband/regroup because there were too many inactive members. What's the point in having an 80-member linkshell when only 5 are active at any one time? The fact is, there is no point. It's not that I want to kick anyone (I hate kicking anyone as a leader, no matter what happens), but that sometimes there is no choice in the matter if I'm going to lead an active linkshell.

This is one of the most continually discussed topics, so you would think they would address it at some point.
