1st - Upgrade just Windows, you will see the performance gain no matter what, and then decide if you need the upgrade.

IF you really want to upgrade CPU, I would recommend to switch to core i5 (or i7 preferably), it is a little more expensive, but it will serve you much longer time than AMD, for example wolfsspirit, he has older processor than you have, and he is still capable on running on high details. IF someone told you that higher numbers/mhz are better, then he is wrong. But if you insist on AMD, then the processor you posted is good value.

The graphic card is ok-ish.

HD7750 is ok, but please be very careful and get DDR5 instead of DDR3. The performance between the two has major difference!

AMD is enough for web browsing, homework essay, and gaming purposes. However, if you intend for your PC to do some video encoding and things related to that (such as photoshop or audio remix stuff), you might want to consider Intel CPU as Julusp above has stated. Otherwise, AMD enough for what you need with a bang for bucks.

A good way to remember what you want to get for CPU is-
AMD -> Gaming + cheap
Intel -> Everything + not so cheap

And you are surprised? Your computer is really good, there is nothing worth upgrading. (maybe get SSD instead of raid0, but if you have backups, no issue there either)

Depends on build and what you do if we talk work stations as well need to multitask 8 core amd setup if prefered if all you do is sit on one program for all work then intel would be my suggestion
Amd setup fine for avarage gamer hell my fx-6100 at 4.5ghz is fine for this game paired with 760 at 1228mhz core clock full load. Just depends on what you want judging by links he needs a budget build so amd would be way to go preferable an unlocked cpu to gain more leverage.

This game doesn't really require sophisticated hardware to run it. It ran fine on my old XP box using a standard profile with shadows/glare turned off--and that was at 1920/1080.

ATI 4870 512MB (DDR5), using drivers from 2009 (this is my old FFXI box)

Older benchmmark (last before the Character Creation)

Running at stock FSB (3GHz CPU): 5137 Medium Quality
Running CPU at 4GHz by raising FSB (so it also overclocked RAM proportionally):
Medium Quality: 5382, Maximum 1664


Newer Benchmark (Character Creation) at 4GHz via FSB:

Default High/Laptop profile: 4195
Default Standard Desktop Profile: 6620
- disabled shadows for self, others, etc (all off), Disabled Cascading Shadows, kept default of 1024 Quality for Shadows, and turned Glare Off
- scored 7071 (Very High)

Note that cascading shadows may cause anomalies (a sort of tearing effect)--very distracting. Turning them off cleaned it up considerably and gave back about 200 points, turning Glare off gave about 200 more.

Quality is still pretty good even with the lower settings, and it gets a decent frame rate, even in the hot spots. Never saw it dip below 38FPS, and frequently hits 50-60 FPS otherwise--that's monitored in real-time via the ATT Overlay, not by pulling up the config screen to check it. On hardware that is up to 7 years old.
