There are some players who are not bots or rmt who have only played to craft.Until SE stop treating gathering and crafting classes as equals to battle classes the story missions will always suck. It's one thing XI did way better, and one thing I hope the new development team changes. I don't know ANYONE who would want to do their missions as a crafter or gatherer yet SE caters to the 0.001% who do. You should be forced to rank up a battle class if you wish to do the story missions. If you don't want to, tough, go play something else. We won't miss you. The story shouldn't suck just because a handful of people want to throw rocks all the way through.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
SPOILER ALERT!!!
Sucks to be them then, sorry but it's true. We're in a land that's on the brink of war from how the story flows and yet someone that never picked up a weapon in their life except a rock is supposed to somehow save it?
Happens all the time in Final Fantasy.
FFX, Tidus never held a weapon in his life till auron handed him one of Jeckts Swords. Before that he was just a Sports Jock.

And he then became a fighter instead of a sports jock. In XIV your can be a cook and save the world with the power of FLAVOUR!

As I posted this I was thinking about Sanji from One Piece...oh boy.
The point is that those characters can "Fight" where as crafters in this game are limp noodles in the fighting department.

*Throws a Rock*.
We could give cooks the ability to devour monster like Quina did as to taste the produce.

Now this I agree with. One thing XIV is severly lacking, is story elements to take on with a party. I didnt like that XI required a party for almost everything, but that doesnt mean I want to solo everything. An even mix would do fine. A couple solo missions and then a must have party mission for every set would be idea.It should require a full party.
The game gets boring when soloing all the story quests.

What would've been even better, is if the crafting classes could attack/debuff or buff as they were initially supposed to.
