Speed Runs, Getting Carried & Exploits
It makes me very sad to see so many players rush-rushing to endgame and getting fully geared in such a ridiculously short amount of time. It worries me, to see people getting there so quickly. Everyday I see people skipping over content, using exploits, buying & selling gil and in general getting carried through the game.
That's terrible! People shouldn't be allowed to do that. These people are only gonna end up hurting themselves and their raids later on. Sure…they might have the gear, but they don't have the skill. They didn't get where they are through hard work and perseverance. They didn't earn the right to wear that gear.
I would rather play with hard working individuals that took the time to do things right. That didn't skip the content, didn't buy their way to the top and didn't rely on the higher ups to get them through content they weren't ready for. To be able to look at a guy, see what he's got on and know he worked long and hard to get that gear. To know he's got the skills to back it up when it comes time. I have respect for people that work hard.
The way things are, we're gonna end up with a bunch of overgeared noobs. I have no respect for people that get carried or use exploits to skip their way to the top. You go around and see all these ppl wearing this incredible gear and you have to question…does this guy deserve to be wearing this? Did he actually earn it? As things are…probably not.
I understand why people use such underhanded tactics. They look around and they see what I see. So many people are already Lv50 and already have their epic gear and they feel like they're being left behind. So, they give in to temptation, take shortcuts. I feel sorry for them, because those people they idolize probably didn't earn that gear properly either. It's good to have nice things, but far better and more satisfying when you actually earn them yourself.
I hope that Square-Enix will take the time to cover up such exploits and that people will be willing to put in a bit more effort for their gear. This is a good game and I just don't want to see it end up like World of Warcrap.

I don't understand your post, it's like your saying everyone who has DL has been carried and haven't worked hard to attain the gear.
5 cm runs for head
8 for chest
5 for gloves
4 for belt
8 for legs
5 for boots
4 for neck
4 for ears
4 for wrist
4 for ring
9 for relic
That's 60 runs, roughly 30 hours give or take finding new people/bad groups probably ups it to 40ish hours worth of time spent earning the gear.
I somehow doubt you will find 7 people willing to just let you afk in cm while they do it for you over and over for 40 hours. And if this is an option that gilsellers provide, well then people who take it are just lazy and will have been carried but I feel like those people are the tiniest minority of the games population that most of the people you are seeing geared have earned it.
Now the gear vs skill thing, well, they can't make it so hard to get the group gear that idiots won't ever get it, or else the risk losing a lot of money.
Darklight isn't true "End Game" gear though. It's a placeholder for the gear that drops from Crystal Tower and Binding Coil, so it should be fairly easy to get as it is basically a requirement to complete said raids.
As for the OP and people "rushing" to get it, why does it matter to you? The people who rush are either doing it so they can quit before the trial period expires or are doing it so that they can move on to other things (like crafting). It affects you very slightly, if at all.
