And he just happened to live down the street from you? Your life is so dramatic.

Anyways, while im sure sexual predation is a real issue, that's not the biggest reason not to implement all those stupid things in the OP. The biggest reason is because they are tacky and made of fail.

I probably shouldn't be surprised that this thread has been derailed...

Azurymber clearly meant it as a JOKE, something that's strangely lacking around here much of the time. Coatees though anyone? Hello?! Plus EverQuest did rather well with THAT box art.

Sex does sell, otherwise viagra, men's magazines, and Victoria's Secret would never have sold anything. We all objectify other people as sex objects, whether it's teenage boys scouring the intertubes for "sexay ladies" to grown women fantasising about Edward from Twilight. It doesn't make people paedophiles.

ummm. cybering isnt bad in any way. While i don't do it, i also don't see why 2 people -looking- to cyber should be judged or looked down upon for doing it. And asking someone to cyber isnt sexual harassment or a bad thing. It's asking a question, which that person can then say NO to.

Also it's not just males that partake in the activity. Many females seek out partners online to explore their sexuality. Its much safer than going to a bar and picking up a random stranger.

    exactly.

And the reason why humans are so obsessed/interested with it is due to evolutionary genetics. If we weren't, our species would not have continued to reproduce. Marketers realize this and take full advantage of it, hiring anthropologists and neuroscientists to scientifically determine the best means of exploiting it.

cybering is a vile act that can lead down some scary roads. Like finding a stalker.

Sorry but I didn't find OP funny and I'm not enjoying the ho hum over pedophiles like they do not exist.

Your oblivoiusly a child and do not have real world experience.

And most the ppl who are twisting what I say or assuming I'm taking crap are no offence idiots who do not look that stuff up.

Totally true. I agree with what you said about cybering too - as long as both people are happy about it, I can't see the harm in it.

    EDIT:
    http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/24/fa...mid=tw-nytimes

New York Times points out that WoW (o noes I said WoW) has more subscribers than Match.com and people find love (and probably cybering) through it.

no i'm not actually. you guys are blinded by the truth. Or choose not to believe it to be the case

Btw here is the actual news artical the site I used wrote about

    http://www.ktvb.com/news/local/Nampa...o-for-sex.html

That is the second occurance WoW has that I personally seen in the news. It happens pretty often actually. And most ppl looking to cyber are infact grown men and women looking for targets. No sane person does sexual activity over the internet.
It is wrong and it is harassing to be asked such a thing. If you idea of playing an mmo to have internet relations you really have issues.

there is harm in cybering actually you do not know who these people really are. And chances are it is a pedophile looking for a target. Watch the news (new york times isn't news it pr fluff) Or read the newspaper. Or go online to read them/watch them kids (mostly young girls) are found dead or turn up missing from meeting these guys (or women) over the internet mostly from nno now, used to be IM chat sites. People fake their id 99% of the time. So to safe cybering is "safe" is a joke. Unless you are 100% certain you know the person 100% i wouldn't deem them safe.
