and to the comment about everyone being sick of the cliche cool guy saving hopeless thing. Yes, every gamer is. Every gamer seems to think FFXIV is one of the worse MMOs on the market as well due to the vast number of negative reviews.

A lot of teens and young adults have ps3s who -aren't- games. And my point is SE should try to attract them with the PS3 release. Look at what is "super popular" in society. Twilight, boy singers like justin bieber, hello kitty, hot topic, etc. There is a -huge- population of PS3 users who SE could turn into MMO players by offering them a console MMO that has things they like.

Are you really saying a lame twilightesque quest line isnt worth an extra 40,000 players?

You must not play mmo alot. A good % of mmo gamers disliked twilight. And actually everyone who owns a ps3 is a gamer. There isn't much else you can do on it. You gotta understand that in reality, ffxiv don't need that crap.

Anyway, this game doesn't need that crap. I mean, look at those korean/western MMOs, at least some of them. Their advertisements sometimes involve boobs, underboobs, ass sides and/or ass cheeks, but how many of them have success in the REAL side, without counting how many accounts have subscribed, but only counting how many players actually Play those games?

If I wanted to see skirts, pretty dresses, cute monsters and so on, I would simply go to a PokèMon porn site.

No even girls open the cyber button. But i bet they were not girls bit pedophiles. Honestly in most the games op wants to copy from or mention. I got nothing but cyber requests. I mean Look at the 360 PSU demo.... it has what op is looking for.

OP i highly suggest you actually play and fully explore the games you mention. They are not that good or kid friendly. Most players when they see a girl character hit on them for quicky cyber sessions. I had it happen to me alot. And it ruins the mmo experiance. I want to be able to play mo and not have to worry about cyber requests, getting hit on, or having an online make believe relationship.

Why attack the OP on a basis of sexism? I would hope everyone knows what sexism is and i would also hope that people are aware that the Male class is definitely dominate in our social structure. However the OP never suggested the fact that she did not think sexism existed or that it did not affect games.

The OP's suggestion was half hearted it sounded like it was posted in a humorous roost, but she also believes in marketing strategies ("sex sells" is in fact a marketing strategy); the OP's ideas in no way reflect sexism in Final Fantasy XIV. The developers of FF XIV have done well with avoiding sexist tendencies by allowing a great deal of equality between genders. All of the OP's suggestions are not inclusive of the whole game; if you don't like whips fine don't use one; if you don't like slutty outfits fine gear up in some chain mail. Everyone forgets that slutty outfits are not inherently sexist, it is when you only allow that gender class to wear that said outfit it becomes sexist (in regards to a game of course).

As for your problems with people hitting on you because you are a girl/women, i have heard that this is a problem in a great deal of MMO's and my heart goes out to you. However taking a cynical view that everyone that hits on you is a pedophile or a pervert is a dangerous road.

I wasn't putting the 2 together..... Just saying most mmo gamer dislike twilight. Not meaning it to be some big thing. Like I said shout in any town in WoW or ffxi and ask who likes twilight and count how many no's you get. But more importently me and ren are trying to establish that what op wants isn't always good. And that the OP is on some false sense of reality as they do not fully comprende most of those ads or ideas. And how they are sexist.

the pedophhiles pay.. who look for tweens looking to cyber. The first forum i belong to was a forum mmo chat site called Harrypotter.com It was kinda like a f2p mmo where you made a log in name you picked a gender then similate the harry potter experience by getting a random wand and house. Then after all that you get on the forums, and turned out that most of it was cybering.

i did a mmo survey in bith WoW and ffxi. 99% of the ppl claim to hate twilight. AkA 300 ppl each over 5 servers each on both games. that is alot of people. Show in ffxi sometime about anyone who likes twilight see how many ppl insult it.

I found twilight a garbage read tbh. It had a juivenile writing style and was extremely slow paced. Almost 1/2 the time you couldn't tell when the characters were talking or thinking. Most scenes in the books took over 10 pages of dialog before moving on. Most teen girls who read it do not know what a good book looks like. ( i'm a unpublished poet and took alot of writing classes and tutoring to know the difference between good writing and bad writing)

Point being, just because something is popular don't make it good. And it possible that 12mil ppl can be wrong on something.
