Question about crafting

I just can't figure it out. When I'm crafting, how do I craft an item that isn't in my crafting log? I can't make heads or tails out of it.

Sick of buying those items.

I thought there might be some "mix and match" crafting, but I don't see any.

You mean, for example, if you're a Blacksmith and you can't figure out how to make Orange Juice? It might just be in another craft.....

Nah i mean like for a Goldsmith tradeleve I need to make a brass ring. I know what ingredients i need to make one (thank you internet) but the recipe itself isnt in my crafting log. I guess what I'm saying is, how am I able to make things that do not appear in my craft log? Am I able to add ingredients manually somehow?

It would help if you actually had a Goldsmith, currently Lodestone says you don't. And if you do, Brass Ring is a L20 Synth. Won't see it til you have the 16-20 Synths in your Log.

Leves are picked up in tiers based on level, and crafting tiers are unlocked by level. If you can pick up the leve, your craft has the crafting tier the item is made within unlocked. Brass rings are a tier 3 item, iirc, meaning you need to be level 11-15 or higher to see.

You have to have the recipe/tier unlocked and be able to see it in your crafting recipe list in order to craft it. I have not seen any manual way to craft without prior memorized recipes like in ffxi.

For brass rings, you buy it from the AH or level up your goldsmith to level 10+ (brass rings is a goldsmith lv15 recipe).
You can see it in your cradting log after you unlocked the level 11-15 recipes there.

Or if you mean brass ring (and not brass rings) then it is a level 20 recipe.

Yeah im a lv 19 gsm. Maybe im crazy but i could swear that on both my smithing and gsm ive come across items that werent on the recipe list.
