Should I be saving all my gill for later on in the game?

Am guessing 30k isn't much anyway at lvl 50 and I may aswel saves hours just teleporting

    What do you lot think/do??
Teleporting everywhere you go is good way to go broke. Do it only when you really need it and it really makes a difference.

    Unless that already exists somewhere?

There's too much incentive to teleport all over the place when Limsa is the only departure point.
I'd settle for them making the ferry out of Vesper Bay free, like it was in 1.x.

You are spending 1k-2k for repairs at lvl50.

Teleportation costs do add up. Switching your favored spots is generally the best way to go if you know there is a aetheryte point you are going to constantly. Favoring the cities is more for end-game because airship travel is generally cheaper. If you're based in ul'dah, teleports to the 2 cities are roughly 200gil anyway, so you can always use that as a teleport hub (return to ul'dah and teleport from there).

I am generally loathe to teleport anywhere unless it is a favored spot for me. I also use the 'Return' command to set up a 4th free spot (usually where ever my current quest hub is). if you do use teleport, make sure you kill enemies or run some other content to help make up for the cost. It only takes 1-2 FATEs (or leves if you have any to spare) to cover your expenses.

I use a combination of favored points and returning. I keep my home point set in ul'dah, and my favored points in Grid, LL, and Camp Dragonhead. This lets me go pretty much wherever. Even as a level 50, I still try not to teleport too much.

In regards to your question about mounts, while you can get other mounts later, they are all the same speed as your chocobo. So, that's the fastest a mount will go. It's still much faster than running.

Also, don't forget about choco porters! You can usually hire choco porters to run you from camp to camp in a zone for much less than it would cost to teleport. For example, Ul'dah to Horizon is a five gil choco porter run. I use that one all the time when I'm trying to get to vesper bay. The others are usually like 20-30 gil. It's not instant, but I think it's worth the gil saved.

Also, the choco porter chocobos have cute hats. :3

I've been using teleport any time I have to go somewhere since I started, including while leveling most non-conjurer classes to 15 plus lancer to 31 and arcanist to 25. I have about 68k gil. It's not a huge amount but it's pretty decent for level 37, I think. The trick is to not spend gil on anything else as much as possible.

I don't repair until things are 10% or completely broke (depending on when I hit a town), this negates potentially repairing something that would have lasted longer anyways and replacing it. And the only other thing I've spent gil on is Gyshal Greens. :P

Im l47 whm, and got about 180k gil saved up from just doing quests, only things ive bought are dye and mana pots, Ive used tp where ever I can, if your losing gil faster than you get it then you must be blowing it on things you dont really need, even armor ibe never bought I just run dungeons and quests.

Makes no sense whatsoever since beta 4 as the repair costs are now proportional to the level of the damage and all you'll achieve is the decreased performance of your gear if you delay repairing it as soon as you pass the NPC (unlless idee you're using your own resources for repairs but I find that as too much hassle at lower levels - will pay off only from 48+ onwards anyway).

I teleport everywhere. Most of my money goes into teleporting but I also market on the side from time to time so it helps fund it. It helps to favorite locations you tend to go to a lot or at least favorite one location in every continent and if you're in an area, go ahead and set that aetheryte as your home.
