FFXIII - levelling progress is blocked until you reach certain points in the storyline.

I'd like to see something like this. However, I think it should be done through the Grand Companies. Say after level 50+, you can go to the leader of your Grand Company and request the ability to be tested in order to receive "Veteran" Status in the Company. Each time they raise the level cap they could come up with new tests and new ranks to give you.

50-55: Kill a given NM specifically for that quest, and essentially prove your worth
55-60: Battle one of the officers of the Grand Company 1v1

and for the final one (I won't give a number because I don't know what their final level cap will be) you could battle the leader of the Grand Companies yourself. Just a thought.

Putting Maat in the game doesn't entail that this is FFXI-2

As pointless as it would be, all it would be is homage.

I would like to fight MAAT exactly as he was in FFXI for the last cap increase in this game, it`ll just be a nudge to FFXI like an easter egg sort of thing, I`m all for it.

I think a way to quest and unlock the level cap is a good way to prove your worth in your chosen job,
I like the way FF11 implemented this, i dont want ff11 part 2 but i would be happy to see the equivillant use of ffxiv lore for this purpose. This would also help add some of the much needed content everyone wants too!!

TBH I`m totally for FFXI-2, would`ve been a heck of a lot better than this game.

I dunno about a level cap increase it would place the PS3'er with an even bigger gap to fill which, might leave us waiting for content even longer while SE waits for them to catch up.

Though I wouldn't mind a new DoW/M since someone on these forums posted that picture of the gm, which he had an arcanist weapon, similar to the ones the NPC have in the classes respective guild. (Video here) Perhaps this could be an alternative to a level increase instead.

New PS3 players wouldn't know any better. If the game released on PS3 with a level cap of 60, they would never be the wiser of it unless they played the PC version first. As long as there is content to play and a good way to level up and have fun, I doubt anyone would actually care if the level cap was 50 or 60.

I dont see them raising the cap until the ps3 is released or even a couple months after. SE has a lot to fix in this game from small to Large issues. Untill those are fixed i do not see a raise in the ranks/cap or a PS3 release.

Enough saying we trying to make this FFXI-2 here a hint FFXIV is a copy of FFXI a from day 1 with the race, city and somewhat storyline. The op just trying to get something fun and we all enjoy from ffxi and add to it to ffxiv. It does not have to be 100% same. Final fantasy copy from the other game take what they had best remake it and resell it to us with better storyline better gameplay and overall better game so enough.

We need to learn from ffxi add everything it had and make it 10x better and remake it into a new system and maybe this game would be somewhere up there with ffxi.
