Yeah, don't make any purchases quite yet. Give them some time to optimize the engine.
I have a single 760 and I get 60+ FPS everywhere except in town when I'm in the market areas (100+ people crafting kills me) where it will drop as low as 15. Every once in a while it will randomly dip below 30 while in open world or instanced, but rarely stays that way more than a few seconds.
yeah outside i don't have a problem, i can get over 100fps but, in towns it can dip to 30-40 fps D;I have a single 760 and I get 60+ FPS everywhere except in town when I'm in the market areas (100+ people crafting kills me) where it will drop as low as 15. I do, I actually limit my fps to 60 to keep my system running cooler (I need switch to water cooling).
I've got the same processor i7-2700k, 2x gtx560Ti, 8GB RAM. If I let my cards run full blast I'm usually getting mid 80s, low 60s.

There's no point on letting your FPS go over 60 anyway unless you have a monitor that has refresh rate of greater than than 60hz. XD
Oh I know, that's also the other reason I keep it capped at 60 (no need to put undue stress on components I don't wanna fork out $$$ to replace quite yet).. Though I would love me one of them 120Hz monitors... Though then I'd just run in 3D and still be capped at 60.. haha.

Same here. Anything over 60 is overkill anyway, so why expose your machine to unnecessary heat? With the limiter off I usually see 85-90 while exploring.
Look at your system during these times guys jeez I don't have nearly the CPU you guys do but mine is almost never over 50% load.
And connection speed is not always client side. The server can only push so much data to so many people at the same time.
I'm sorry... but I don't think you know what you're talking about if you assume that connection speed affect FPS more than CPU in a CPU/GPU intensive game such as this.
Haha I wish I have a 120hz monitor too ~ but I cannot afford it atm. :XOh I know, that's also the other reason I keep it capped at 60 (no need to put undue stress on components I don't wanna fork out $$$ to replace quite yet)...
