    Paladin Tanking - Parry/Block Caps

    Hi All

I am approaching 50 on my Paladin and have perused a couple of the tanking guides in these forums but have been unable to locate any information on the Parry/Block caps.

Does anyone know the exact numbers we should be aiming for or point me in the right direction ?

    Thank you

    A) There aren't any.
    B) There's essentially no choice in gear itemization.

Poster above is correct, there aren't any Hard Caps.
    There are however "tiers".

Basically if you can raise your strength and/or dexterity stats sufficiently high, you can increase your parry/block mitigation by X% strength and/or Y% rate for each of these tiers you hit. The problem is that it doesn't matter if you put any extra points into a stat once you've already raised it high enough to reach a certain tier, unless you can raise it reach the minimum level of the NEXT tier... you therefore reach a point where it's not worth investing in any more STR or DEX because you're never realistically going to be able to hit the next tier with your currently available equipment's stats.

There's been extensive testing on the amount of STR needed to reach each tier of %-of-damage-blocked, but less into the amount of DEX needed to reach each tier of %-chance-for-a-block-to-occur.
    See here for details.
