    I just want to say this to people, EXP parties are EXTREMELY viable, but not in the way that the game intends. If you can find the right spot and people (you need 10-14 chains), it's actually faster to level with an "exp party" than it is to level via fate grinding. Though it's really only about 50% faster.

    Of course, my definition of EXP party probably isn't the same (i.e. having a lower level player tag all the mobs, and having a higher level player kill them all). But this is currently the fastest way to level.

    I agree bring Exp Party from 1.0 Back, it weired because I enjoy 1.0 much more then 2.0 when I started it with a couple of friends. We were doing Exp Party chaining mob and it was such a blast.

    Exp party now is not that viable and effective anymore, it required 8 people chaining, mob don't spawn fast enough like in 1.0 and the chain is just not that good of a exp. Bring back the fun exp chain in 1.0 SE.

    I believe I've read that exp parties do work, and are actually faster than fates. Get a group of 8 people together and go find a decent set of mobs that spawn fast and are around 5 levels above the players. I've heard that chaining in this fashion gets tons and tons of exp. The main hindrance to this is that you can't arbitrarily level sync down to another players level. So variation in group levels can make this rather difficult to create a party for.

    This is true.

    Japanese groups have been doing this for a while, and it is a very effective way to level.


    But very few people want to bother trying to find 8 ppl the same level --- and so nobody hears about them, and thus it never becomes mainstream.

    But select FCs and LSs have had a lot of success with exp pts once they get them properly organized.

    Right, but not many people know this, not only that you'll be hard pressed to find 8 people @ your level and willing to sit and grind mobs as the "mainstream" makes out fates to be the best.

    Mainstream should be exp parties, plain and simple. Not only that they should increase dungeon exp too, currently they seem to be the slowest form of exp and take the longest...

    My guess is that the devs will say: "Working as intended"

    You want good solo exp with some storyline/lore/rewards? >> QUESTS/MISSIONS/GUILDLEVES/HUNTING LOGS
    You want quick and stupid easy exp with GC seals? >> FATEs
    You want small-party grind exp & free gear in the process? >> DUNGEON RUNS
    You want to invest time in setting up for optimal grinding and the MOST exp/hr? > FULL OPEN-WORLD PT



    Are you complaining that more people choose the easy way rather than the best?

    Exp parties are already viable like for example there is one spot near where dark devices spawns. I prefer just sitting there to chasing fates around.

    Depending on your class, if you're starting from level 1 and trying to do FATEs now, you sometimes have to just ignore a perfectly good Fate. Take the Chupacabra in La Nocsea. I would always grind in that area when I was leveling at first for the abilities of thauramage and conjurer for scholar, but once I started to level Marauder for it's abilities on a Paladin, there was barely anyone around. Without a healer, there is NO WAY for some classes to even attempt to solo a Fate, much less look at it. Most people now are about the end game and all that fun.

    Course, I'm not worrying about that. Still level 44 as a scholar and ignoring Stone Vigil and beyond due to the fact that I just wanna craft. ;p
