Now either use Flash or the Fast Blade followed by Savage Blade onto each target as needed to maintain the Red [ ] at all times when you look at the enemy target list.
MRD is the same way, just replace fast blade/savage blade and flash with the MRD counter-parts. This is what I illistrated in the picture, because regardless of how well you explain it, if they hadn't done it it's difficult to visualize.

I've found that using skills on each monster takes to long, and sticking with the aoe hate move(flash), works much better assuming everyone stays on target.

Thanks for the supportive thread. Not only teaching hate control but also giving support to tanks morale. I know a lot of people rage at each other for being new at things, but its a game! There's a learning curve for everyone.

Since we get a limited number of posts per day, I get very careful about which threads I post in... and was going to pass this one up until there were enough other replies for me to have lots of material to reply to...

I guess I'll just be editing this post many times instead. I think the counter starts the moment I hit reply, whether or not I submit, as its cut me down to just 1 post in a day before...

So... the above is pretty similar for Marauder.

    What I do is

    1. Mark 1 and 2. These are on keybinds so the first two things I tab through, I apply those marks, unless I have reason to think other mobs would be better to focus on (like seeing an enemy healer in there). I favor going for trash first, then a boss - and SE likes to surround semi-boss mobs with 2 trash, for a 3-pull, so this works well.

    2. Tomahawk #1, and then run in OR go behind some obstruction.

    3. If I'm running in, I run past my mark, and when I am mid way through the rest of them, I hit Flash, instant turn around with a mouse spin, and walk backwards. Result lines them up in front of me... and I hit Overpower. If going behind an obstruction, I wait there for them to clump up at the spot where they can see me - and later will move them to be better positioned for the DPS.

    4. Now I open up on my mark with my 3-hit enmity combo: Heavy Swing, Skull Sunder, Butcher's Block. If the color of the other mobs is still red on the enemy list, I will cycle some other abilities: defensive things, or Fracture to apply a DoT. If not red on everyone, I cycle another Overpower. It takes judgement to know what works best and when.

    5. When my Mark gets below 50%... somewhere between 20% to 50%, I will switch to number 2 and do my 3-hit enmity combo there, then tab through the remainder giving them each something small like Fracture, and then onto 2 until it too, is way down there.

    6. I will often dance around a bit side to side to force the enemy to keep wasting time on turning - PvE mobs often will EITHER move or attack, and they turn 'like keyboard turners', so you can negate a lot of their "autoattack hits" this way.

    7. If a red spot lights up, get out of it. Preferably in a way that forced the mob to turn around. For this reason it is often better to position mobs so that their flank (side) faces your ranged DPS, rather than their back.

Maim has NO enmity bonus. If I lead in with it, I will lose threat. I don't put it into my list until a few cycles in, when my threat lead is solid.

    From:
    http://distantworld.enjin.com/forum/...-warrior-guide
    Lv. 4 : Skull Sunder*
Description: Delivers an attack with a potency of 200. Grants Wrath when used with Defiance.
    Enmity: 3x DMG (ie. 150 dmg = 450 enmity)

    Lv. 18 : Maim*
Description: Delivers an attack with a potency of 190. Grants Wrath when used with Defiance. Combo Bonus: Increases damage dealt by 20%.
    Enmity: 1x DMG (ie. 150 dmg = 150 enmity)

    Lv. 30 : Butcher's Block*
Description: Delivers an attack with a potency of 280. Grants Wrath when used with Defiance.
    Enmity: 5x DMG (ie. 300 dmg = 1500 enmity)
So the only time to EVER use main is right BEFORE using Bloodbath:
    Lv. 8 : Bloodbath
Description: Converts 25% of physical damage dealt into HP.
    Enmity: +70
So that maim will boost damage during the duration of bloodbath, for more self healing.

Any other use of Maim is asking to lose enmity to that Bard over there in the back...
    - But its great when I'm soloing. :P

Another important thing for new tanks to know is that the healer will gain emnity for heals even if their target is at full health when healed. If a tank sees a healer spamming away, its a good time to have a discussion on hate mechanics with the healer. I have seen more than one group angry at a tank for losing a mob when its the healers fault for spamming aoe heals like mad.

Just as is the case with an uninformed tank, there is nothing a bit of explanation and adaption can't fix

not to say that the OP made a great post, as it is one, but all this is pretty much learned in the Guildheists. Nice guides that are being posted though, recommend reading for sure, along with the OP

I'm just a garbage tank! I have both tanks to 50 cause of 1.0 but don't worry, I never go on them!
Sometimes if I'm helping out lower levels I'll attempt to tank for them out of favor but I never know how to hold hate well, least for several mobs.
This was helpful, although mrd still confuses the bloody hell out of me with all its new moves.

    Thank you!
