Guild Tasks: Crystal Reward Bugged?

Yesterday I went to do a couple of guild tasks, for guild smithing and weaving. The NPC states the reward is 100 shards of a specific element. However, when completing the tasks I only received 5 shards from each. I double checked the chat buffer as well.

This was working properly just a few days ago where I received 100 for both classes just fine.

Its not a bug. The 100 shards or 5000 gil are the "best" rewards among many others. The reward you receive is random...the NPC himself says so when expllaining about the rewards.

If you were solo when the issue occurred, please write "Solo". If you were in a party, please write "Party". With alliance, please write "Alliance."
*If you wrote "Party" or "Alliance", please also include the number of members.

NPC Name:
Name of NPC that your character was interacting with when the issue occurred.
*If you were not interacting with any NPC, then please write "None".

Monster Name:
Name of monster that your character was battling against when the issue occurred.
*If you were not battling against any monster, then please write "None".

In-Game Time:
Please list the in-game time that the issue occurred.

Steps:
Detailed steps on how the issue occurred.

I originally thought that this was a bug, too. But if you read closely what the NPC says, he/she says that 100 shards is the best possible reward (one NPC even says, "No guarantees that you'll get that one" or something similar). That implies that there are other, lesser rewards that you can get. I think the game just randomly decides what reward to give you.
