    Empty world

I'm a massive RPG fan and an even bigger MMORPG fan, but being at level 46 spending an insane amount of time grinding for 47, a sudden pathetic thought occured to me.......this game is hollow.

ive no story quests, my leves give around 6k xp (currently needing 460k) fates at lvl 40 + are a game of Russian roulette on ps3 (fought svara without actually seeing him, wouldnt know what he looked like if he sat on me )and ive done all my side quests.....so how do i grind up to lvl 49 for my next story?

how about killing some high level beasts that the world is so full of? lvl 49 gigas, 49 ceruleum soldiers etc? these pretty tough battles give, at best roughly 300xp! so lets get this right, a world full of enemies that serve no purpose other than to get in your way and make the world look a bit more lively.i think this is pretty despicable square, how can an rpg not reward you for killing high level enemies? i dont just want fates or dungeons to be my primary xp giver, i want to be rewarded for actually taking down a bloody big adamantoise, but instead all i ever do is ignore enemies as they arent worth the hassle (unless the quests ive no longer got had me killing x amount)

which is a chronic shame. if you can give 1k per kill in a dungeon why not in the open world? the xp give in dungeons is so much more accurate, heck id even say perfect but why should i have to queue for a dungeon just to earn an appropriate amount of xp? im literally bored now, i cant believe (excluding aurum vale) i have a 460k grind with NOTHING to do, my next sub is getting questioned

Think you may have missed a fair few sidequests then... Have you done all the sidequest series starting out of waking sands @ around 46-47?

£7.50 a month to grind random events in an mmorpg, thats supposed to be full of things to do? no your ok ill just take my money else where. you see games that lack content tend to nosedive, and although this is new to an extent, the game has naff all to do really past 45, i back the subscription model over f2p, but as it stands ive played f2p games that have more content, and the fact that enemies in an rpg are unrewarding, well thats like bullets in a fps doing little damage

@Shaone the only quests at the walking sands i have is a lvl 48 i think, its a girl stood around the corner outside it

Shaone is talking about inside of the Waking Sands. After you complete the main quest and return to the Waking Sands to talk to Minfilia and it says you have to be level 49 before you do the next quest. Walk outside of the Solar to that stockroom area in between the open world and the Solar. There are 3 side quests which take you to different parts of Eorzea and have more branching side quests from those. Follow those side quests and you should be well into 48 by the time your done.

after you reach lvl 50 you will grind 2-3 dungeons for tokens, everyday the same thing over and over again. getting from lvl 45-50 with no quests using fates is the easy part.

But im not 49 im 47, so i haven't finished the quest line and as it stands have another 2 levels aka 1million xp to find to continue the quest line, and there's JACK ALL in this game to do right now other than fates and dungeons, this is my whole point. There's level 45-50 enemies scattered all over the place yet they dont give decent xp, why? its an RPG for god sake your supposed to get better rewards for tougher enemies, have square enix really forgotten the basic principles? dungeon enemies give 1k+, world enemies give 300 if your lucky, so again lets take away the pointless enemies and what are we left with? not a lot im afraid, dungeons and fates are not enough to keep the game interesting. im glad some people find it acceptable but i dont, certainly not after playing other mmorpgs that dont have this issue

Also try setting Recommended Duty to pop up on your screen every time you zone and leaving it open (it's in config somewhere). I quested to 50 and still see a ton of sidequests I didn't clear pop up there in many many zones, plus it reminds you about hunting log entries, and shows nearby level appropriate FATEs, which, in the case of many of the less popular areas, don't have any of the problems you mentioned at the Svara FATE (sometimes the opposite, so few people the NM can't be killed in time, although there is still failure exp so not a total waste of time to join or try and solo if the clock is running low).

That is 9-10 dungeons á 2 hours each (taking the extreme queuetimes into account).. So 18-20 hours to get to 49. Not ok if you do not have something to do while waiting for those queue times. I know your feel and have also been there.
