    Empty world

I'm a massive RPG fan and an even bigger MMORPG fan, but being at level 46 spending an insane amount of time grinding for 47, a sudden pathetic thought occured to me.......this game is hollow.

ive no story quests, my leves give around 6k xp (currently needing 460k) fates at lvl 40 + are a game of Russian roulette on ps3 (fought svara without actually seeing him, wouldnt know what he looked like if he sat on me )and ive done all my side quests.....so how do i grind up to lvl 49 for my next story?

how about killing some high level beasts that the world is so full of? lvl 49 gigas, 49 ceruleum soldiers etc? these pretty tough battles give, at best roughly 300xp! so lets get this right, a world full of enemies that serve no purpose other than to get in your way and make the world look a bit more lively.i think this is pretty despicable square, how can an rpg not reward you for killing high level enemies? i dont just want fates or dungeons to be my primary xp giver, i want to be rewarded for actually taking down a bloody big adamantoise, but instead all i ever do is ignore enemies as they arent worth the hassle (unless the quests ive no longer got had me killing x amount)

which is a chronic shame. if you can give 1k per kill in a dungeon why not in the open world? the xp give in dungeons is so much more accurate, heck id even say perfect but why should i have to queue for a dungeon just to earn an appropriate amount of xp? im literally bored now, i cant believe (excluding aurum vale) i have a 460k grind with NOTHING to do, my next sub is getting questioned

Think you may have missed a fair few sidequests then... Have you done all the sidequest series starting out of waking sands @ around 46-47?

Once you finish the level 46 story quest there is literally nothing until you do the level 49 story quest. Once completed a couple of people in the waking sands point to you a few new quest hubs containing lv 47 and 48 quests. In my opinion they should have made the unlock for those quests the level 46 story quest and not the level 49 story quest. On the plus side doing those quests alone will get you from 49 to 50.

It's the level 46 story quest that unlocks them, this one: http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Th...%27s_Ultimatum

That is 9-10 dungeons á 2 hours each (taking the extreme queuetimes into account).. So 18-20 hours to get to 49. Not ok if you do not have something to do while waiting for those queue times. I know your feel and have also been there.

OK so if you are FATE adverse (49-50 takes around an hour, 2 at most)... And you actually queue dungeons instead of pre-making groups... and you grind some low dungeon instead of the closest to your level.... then yeah I guess it might take 20 hours... But it's kinda like sticking pins in your eyes and saying "this really really hurts"....

Do FATEs, guildhests, dungeons, leves. There's plenty to do, you're just complaining about having to work at something. Also, try using the edit button to consolidate your posts.

Kinda agree somewhat. Party grind has been replaced by fate grind. Grindy is grindy, especially if there's only one 'good' way to do it.

One solution in my opinion is for dungeons (some of the best things in this game) to give much, much better exp, so running fates isn't the only profitable way to get moving. At the moment I have no real reason to go back and do them all unless I'm starting a new class.

I'm dreading levelling a second class from 35-50.

That said, we're still early doors, so after 2.1 and 2.2 I think the whole thing will be much more balanced.
