Don't start a boss fight if someone is watching a cutscene

I was going through the Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak for the first time the other day, and when we got to the final boss fight, I got pulled into a cutscene. As I've been rather enjoying the story of the game, I wanted to watch the scene. I figured that, with the warning at the beginning of the dungeon of a first-timer, my party members would know to wait before starting the fight. Apparently not. Shouldn't there be a stipulation in the code or something about not allowing the boss to start until everyone is out of a cutscene?

This happened me in one of the earlier dungeons.
One of the others ran to the end boss and activated the cut scene, I watched it as it was my first time in there, and by the time I had came out of the cut scene, the other guys had started attacking the boss and I was trapped behind the purple screen and couldn't participate in the fight.

They beat him mind you and did well to do it.

Unfortunately, my party died since I'm the Healer. When I came out of the cutscene, I was alone with the giant scorpion thing. Thankfully, it didn't attack me and I was able to wait for everyone to get back. I knew that it was our tank's fault though, since he was running pell-mell through the whole dungeon without even checking to see if the rest of the party was with him. Then he abandoned us after we lost again.

How is watching a cut-scene for the first time, especially a story-centric cutscene, lack of common sense. I would understand it if it were the starting cutscene at the beginning of the dungeon, or if there hadn't been the warning that this was one or more player's first time in the dungeon, but neither of those were the case.

It's common sense not to start the encounter while someone in your party is marked in a cut scene. I never said or intended that it was common sense to not watch the cut scene. Not trying to condescend to you, but, you are aware players are marked in the party UI, right?

Ok, I guess I just misunderstood your original statement. And yes, I do know that Party List shows if someone is in a cutscene. My gripe was the our original tank just barged ahead and didn't even pay attention to that.

Just wait until the final two dungeons, where everyone's excuse is either "You can watch them at the inn.", "We will run out of time!" or both.

Do the final dungeons really so long that a few minutes could cause you to go over time? Aren't you given 90 minutes?

No, the final dungeons both give you two hours to complete 'em and I can guarantee you that will never go over that limit unless you wipe repeatedly. It has nothing to do with the cutscenes. Not entirely their fault though. Just Square Enix's dumb idea to make the most (or only) story heavy dungeons a place to farm endgame.

What I don't understand, is why they just don't put the cutscenes before the DF match, or after the Duty is exited. Other than the storyline bits that accompany the Primals, every dungeon I've been to seems to throw an unnecessary long cutscene before AND after the final boss. I think the only cutscene that was actually relevant to be before the boss was the one to "Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak"

Given, this isn't the only game that does this. What they could have opted for Mabinogi's solution which is the Party Leader can group-cancel the cutscene. However...
This comes pack to a problem with how the game assigns a party lead, and who actually is the Party lead. In every dungeon the Party Lead is always the tank, and they're always the one who wants to rush it. The game should automatically assign the Party Lead to one of the players who hasn't completed the dungeon yet. Or the game itself could just use a "skip all cutscenes I've seen" feature.
