Question about looting and limit break

i play a DRG, and i noticed that some gears i cannot "need" for and it clearly says its suitable for DRG/LNC. why is that? is that a bug? because i kind of find it frustrating to only be able to "need" gears that's for all diciples of war.

secondly, how does limit break work? as a DRG, should i buff up before i pop it? or is the damage set at a certain amount, does it crit?

As for 1) yes it is a bug, from what I have heard

1. In some cases it may be a bug, however...in others it is because its a tanking piece.

Dragoons can wear both Leather and Plate, however the problem comes when there are actually 4 types of armor.

Tanking Plate - Labeled as WAR/PLD/DRG With parry and high vit. Dragoons can use this but cannot need.
DPS Plate - Labeled as WAR/PLD/DRGWith crit generally. Dragoons can use this, and can need. Tanks can use it, but cannot need.
STR Leather - Labeled typically as DoW. Dragoons can use this, just as well as monks, but cannot need, because it is monk's priority.
DEX Leather - Labeled typically as DoW. Dragoons can use this, but extremely poorly, and obviously they cannot need.

So as you can see, of the 4 types of armor that you "can" use, and have your class labeled, you can only actually need on one of them (DPS Plate).

What I believe happened is you saw either a piece of Tanking plate or STR Leather.

2. Not entirely sure on limit break, but people swear that buffs help and that it can crit. I am of the personal opinion that it is dependent entirely on weapon damage.

2. Life surge works in lb2-3 does not appear to work on lb1 (restores noticable hp). I would assume this means others work as well but might be limited to level.Tested in titan.

Yes, buff up before you pop it. You can increase damage by 40% if you use Heavy Thrust and Blood for Blood. I have never seen a LB crit. I do not think it is possible.

Thank you for your detailed response, however, I find that I can only "need" leather clothing and have yet seen a plate that I can "need" on, and I know this because leather gears are so ugly, and my DRG is being ugly. ALTHOUGH it can also very well be because I'm just unlucky and have yet to find the piece you're talking about.

Infact there are some piece of equipment, like the Foestriker Set, that can be Needed as Lancer.

1) It's a bug, it's mail gear later levels it's just lnc/drg but at low levels tanks will need on it and you can't.

2)Yeah it gets buff, use with cds and other buffs, potions as well if you got them.
I'm in relic, dl/ak the other monk my FC is in relic+1 and ful DL and he has BFB, guess who gets to use LB3 :P
