Chocobo leveling

Apart from creating a brand new class and leveling him via kill 10 rats leves and soloing FATEs (i have almost no quests left except for a few in the very late 40's), is there ANY - I mean ANY - method of leveling up my Chocobo somewhat faster?

Seriously, a kill 10 rats leve barely gives him XP that is remotely noticeable on its XP bar. I would prefer not to kill 5000 mobs straight, just to level him up.

They don't really serve a purpose atm, mines lvl 4 and that seems enough to be helpful. Maybe when they allow us to take them into dungeons they'll level up faster.

Make a fate party in the zone that has the dark devices fate c. plant whatever it is called. Anyway you do that fate your chocobo gets 1/2 a level per dark devices rotation. It helps to be leader of the fate party that way you can also have 7 people and your chocobo.

Yeah i thought about doing DD with it out and me as leader of the group. But i thought that would be unkind to those in the group with me, with a Chocobo doing almost nothing. So much so they would bail on the group because they would feel it unfair to have a 5th wheel in the group. And i would agree with them.
