It frontloads more of its damage. In 2 ticks, Venomous does 170 potency vs Windbiter's 150. Only at 4 ticks do they match up at 240 potency.
Like I said, it only matters if you absolutely insist on breaking things down that far. I usually don't bother.


You are confusing the attack potency "frontloading" with the fact that you are using both, regardless of which is used first.
What you say is true IF you only used one or the other, and compared them side by side.
Lets assume the first dot does 1 tick, the second dot does 0.
WB > VB
WB = 60 (attack) + 45 (tick) = 105
VB = 100 (attack)
Total = 205
VB > WB
VB = 100 (attack) + 35 (tick) = 135
WB = 60 (attack)
Total = 195.
So even in the 2.5-5 second scenario, WB > VB is superior.
