Hey, just wondering, what items do you guys find profitable from the whole goldsmith crafting list? There must be specific items that sell for a decent amount of gil.
I'm only lvl 26, working on 50!

stop the crafting before you sink too deep.
it will make no money or very little.
i think u will get more money from the SB your eqs to materia to sell.
crafting was profitable about a month ago. Now the materials used costs more than the product you make, making crafting completely worthless :P
Yes plz dont craft, we no need more competitors
As a lvl 50 GSM I can assure you.....NOTHING sells for anything decent. I wish I was lying, but I'm not. So if you're crafting for the profits....sorry to say, but there aren't any.
GSM can be profitable if you pair it with mining. You'll be making lvl49 jewelry and selling those on the market for straight profit of 3k^ x piece.
As more and more people have hit 50 Goldsmith and learned how to reliably HQ even the higher level items, there's just no real demand. You -can- always make a profit though. Without fail, the 49 jewellery, and the mythril and silver rings of Crafting (and similar craft/gather stuff) will sell for a few thousand each.
The problem though is that you're having to pay a thousand in mats to make each one. And the issue isnt just the raw mats. The biggest issue is Wind Shards.
Wind Shards, which are sitting at 50 gil each on my server, are the hidden cost of crafting. You can buy Electrum Ingots for 400 each, or make them yourself, but when you need 250-300 gil of shards just to make the ingot not counting the ore itself, then even if you mine the ore you'll barely break even. And spending time mining Wind Shards isnt especially profitable. It's easy but slow.
You can't really use Mining as a reason to state that it's profitable. Mining has a cost of -time-. Sure, you might mine all the ore you need for electrum jewellery. You might also mine all the wind shards you need. But that took you time, it can't be considered free. If being a miner made those appear magically in your inventory regularly, yes, mining would make it profitable. But you you spend an hour mining to make jewellery... you could have just bought the mining mats off the Market, and spent that hour crafting MORE stuff to sell for profit. Right now mining seems to have a really bad return on time investment.
If you craft a handful of desirable jewels each day, you'll sell them and make profit. But it wont be a big profit, and you'll probably find far better ways to spend time making money than sitting there crafting rings for 500 gil profit a go. I still find the biggest income for me is running AK/CM/whatever with 5 high quality 49 accessories on, then Converting and selling the materia. The only thing that being a goldsmith does is mean I save a couple of thousand by making the accessories myself rather than buying them all from the market.

Level 49 HQ jewelry + 2 CM runs = 100% spiritbond. Grade 3 materia. Helps to have 50 miner as there is 0 expense. Savage aim/might materia seem to be quite common and those go for 15k a piece on my server all day. Been working on my DL gear and making bank at the same time.
It'd be plenty profitable if the entirety of it wasn't People undercutting each other. its especially apparent on the weekends for obvious reasons... (Pssst, No school) And certain folk flood the AH Undercutting each other by ridiculous amounts.
Usually evens out by midweek but yah, Crafting isn't much profitable unless you mine the materials yourself, Or readily supply yourself with the Myth/Phil items or what have you for 2 Star Synths. Again, mostly due to undercutting... I don't mind items not being price gouge high, but in most cases its a clear loss in profit on all fronts outside of the highest of synths.
I've noticed this also...I sell much more during the week and for more gil. When I started I didn't know what to sell items for so I struggled because I didn't know you could look at what others were selling the same item for... a lot of the lower level items aren't worth selling anymore because everyone is selling them for 10 gil or less. It'd be plenty profitable if the entirety of it wasn't People undercutting each other. its especially apparent on the weekends for obvious reasons... To the OP, I'm one that finds crafting and gathering fun so I have dabbled in many of them. I think the goldsmith is harder to achieve HQ(which sell better IMO) items so I tend to not spend much time doing it. As a leatherworker and weaver I've sold lots of items and made quite a bit of money but I got in a bad habit of buying the mats on the market when I needed them and I almost went broke so if your planning on crafting I would suggest gathering your own mats or ask your friends if you can trade them mats for items you make for them. I've got friends in goldsmith and blacksmith so we always trade supplies around.
