Hackers and Black Lists

In my opinion, everyone should clear their blist on a weekly basis honestly, except for real people you blisted for other reasons.

I do and I have never had a repeat spammer.

They are always gone within a few days, heck sometimes they are gone within minutes of me blisting. The other day in U'ldah on Fairie I walked out of the inn room to a wall of spam and could see the bobble head. I blisted, and before I even exited the walking sands they had disappeared. So this fear of clearing the blist is unfounded in my experience. And is pretty bad for the people who got their account hacked and now they are shut out of the world. I understand pushing people to get a security or software token, but ostracizing someone for a mistake, especially after they have recovered, got the account back, and added a token, is bit over the top.

Plus what is the worst that could happen? You clear the blist and have to add 1 or 2 back on immediately. Better than having to worry about filling up your list with characters that aren't even spamming anymore, and maybe who are real people who now have the account back and just want to get on with playing the game.

So yeah. Be considerate of others, and make your own life simpler. Blist instantly, then clear everyone on Monday. Fewer problems, and everyone is better/happier for it. Just my opinion!

So yeah to the OP, chances are if you are in my blist now, you won't be next week. Not that I am close to 50 on Behemoth, but hopefully others will give you the same chance.

Just let your FC and friends know to spread the word if they will, and maybe you can get yourself off a lot of players lists anyway. Also, if you do re-roll, don't let it get your down. Think of it as a chance to try a different role, race, etc. Have fun and make the most of the chance, then maybe later you can come back and play your current character again.

You have to be a idiot or someone buyong gold or other services. So the hacker also using your account to spam did me a favor by letting .e know to blacklist you as you are not smart or a cheater.

Well if you try to send anyone a tell and find that they have you blacklisted, get a LS or FC friend to send that person a tell in your stead and explain to them that you were hacked and most likely blisted due to being used by the RMT for spamming. Most reasonable people would go ahead and remove you right then.

Also, make a post on your server's forum to alert people on your realm about what happened to you and why you may be on their blists. ^^

Rerolling a level 50 over this seems waaaaay overkill. If that was your first reaction, rather than spend a bit of time and effort to clear your name, then I fear no rational arguments to dissuade you will bear any fruit. You are either highly irrational or not innocent in the matter of the mass blacklisting of your name. If it's the first, there's no sense discussing the matter. If it's the second, there's no sense discussing the matter.

After a bit I'll take names off my blist. It's annoying, but I might find some nice people by spending some time clearing that list every now and then.

Kinda offtopic I guess but I sure don't. That has to be one of the biggest waste of time in mmorpg -- nay, life. It takes like 10-20 seconds yeah? There's loads of them and they will ALWAYS be there, they will just keep coming.
