lost my relic quest!

Any tips or help would be appreciated here.
I was starting my relic weapon quest with Nedrick, He sent me to Rowena who in then turn sent me to Gerolt. I talked to Gerolt then after that i got nothing, no quest, no info on where to go or anything, any ideas?? after looking online i think he was supposed to send me to the mine to get the broken weapon but he didnt.i seen other posts with same exact problem. confused here, didnt change my job/class or anything, any help would be much appreciated
