Where you progress until it says "Speak to Cid while disguised as an imperial soldier."

Steps:
This happened several days ago so I don't remember too clearly. I was just going through story & side quests; I know for sure that I visited the 2 guilds in Uldah and Lima Losa, since they're steps towards "Speak to Cid in disguise." When I got to that point, I couldn't find the helm anywhere, in my armory chest, inventory, nor Key Items bag.

It's possible I might have accidentally thrown it away, but I doubt it.
