It's so easy to blame the Healer!!

Had something like this happen in Ifirt Hardmode.

Warrior jumps in, loses hate, Ifrit turns around and blasts the DPS. We go about healing them. Tank loses hate again, comes after the healers. Wipe. Then it's, Derp, didn't get a heal derp. When I explained he lost hate, his buddy chimed in and said he didn't. And I was like, dude, I watched it happen.

Paladin figures it out, so second attempt he just tanks it. But they are trading hate, getting hit by Ifrit at the same time. Hard for us to heal that. But we do. Warrior dies, I swiftcast raise him. Almost out of mana, but I played conservative. Second attempt we end up beating Ifrit. Paladin also interrupted all the eruptions.

He kind of apologized at the end. But this kind of stuff does happen. I've been pretty lucky, haven't been in bad groups, even when I was responsible for 4 wipes on normal Garuda. Maybe you want to play on Cactuar?

I spent today getting blamed for failing coil boss 1 via letting my Warrior tank die (to a 9000 damage hit after mitigation from Eye for an Eye and Sacred Soil, as a Scholar) during attempts where multiple dps and at one point the other healer (a White Mage) died to Caduceus cleaves within the first few minutes of the fight. This being a boss that doesn't move.

Someone asked me if I had swiftcast after having rezzed a Monk, a Bard, and a White Mage in the first five minutes that particular attempt. Naw bro, I did the full cast of Resurrection three times while Eos main-healed this fight, clearly.

A PLD tank died on Demon Wall after I had died from getting swamped by both bees at the same time and blamed me because I didnt add stoneskin on him before I went down........

I have just started playing this game. playing a healer at times. but as many of you know (as there is a thread with at least 76 pages now if you do a search on 'red circle aoe) there is a massive problem with syncing, latency, or whatever that causes people who have avoided the red circle (and other stuff) to take full damage anyhow.

this in turn means that as healers it is more difficult than it should be to keep a group up, as people are sucking up damage that they actually dodged. it means a healer is casting way more heals than normal. this in turn means healers are getting more agro than normal. it also means that even as healers themselves dodge red circles successfully they are hit for full damage.

it also means that tanks have a more difficult time keeping agro because the healer has to go crazy with healing spells.

from my point of view, this flaw is making all aspects of the game miserable, ESPECIALLY dungeons.

I have to say in most mmo's to date if a party wiped most of the time it was the healers fault. I'm not having ago at healers since I play on im 99% of the mmos I play.

however in saying that ff14 is very different in that regard. Im not saying a bad healer wont wipe a group but bad tanks and even bad dps can wipe a group.

Titan HM is a good example. If DPS are bad or their gear is not good enough its impossible to kill titan.

Hydra is a good example of tanks getting it wrong. In fact a lot of fights if tanks get it wrong can wipe the party very quick.

The problem healers face is 15 years of mmos where party wipes were mostly the healers fault.

i think being as a healer is more difficult than being a DPS.. my main job is SMN.. but sometime i do bcome a SCH too.. so, the play style is very different.. but what I notice is as a healer, we have a lot of works to do..

1. need to heal the party member.
2. make sure we r secure from being attacked by foe..

but, sometime bcoz i am too busy healing my party, without i realize it, the enemy attack me bcoz my eyes is looking at the HP bar of all party members.. and it is very unfortunate if the damage is massive, then i die by only a single hit.. but being as a DPS, i dont need to care about other party HP.. so, my eyes is only focusing on the enemies, then it is much easier for me to dodge the attack as my eyes focus on them, but sometime being as a healer it's too late to dodge the attack as my eyes need to look at the part HP bar but at the same time need to look at the enemies if they want to attack me..

Whenever I would get blamed for a party wipe because I died to agro I always say. A tank is only as good as the healer and the healer is only as good as the tank. The tank dies without me and I die without the tank.

The tank is the only one I feel responsible of as a healer.
I keep the tank alive, the tank keep the DPS alive. If a DPS is being stupid, I don't really care about him.
